Imagine waking up to the smell of smoke, realizing that everything youâve built is about to go up in flames. Would you fight for survival or let the fire consume you?
Story:
It was the year 1519, and HernÃĄn CortÊs had just landed on the shores of Mexico with his small army, ready to conquer the vast Aztec Empire. His men, exhausted and frightened by the uncertainty ahead, whispered of mutiny and retreat. CortÊs knew he needed to inspire them or risk failure.
One night, he gave a startling order: âBurn the ships.â
His soldiers were stunned. The ships were their only escape route. Without them, there was no turning back.
Despite their protests, the ships were set ablaze, the flames lighting up the night sky. As they watched their safety net disappear, CortÊs turned to his men and said, âWe fight or we die. Thereâs no retreat, only victory.â
The soldiers, now with no other option, fought with unmatched determination. Against all odds, they succeeded, not because they were the strongest, but because they had no choice but to move forward.
Lesson:
Sometimes, the key to achieving your dreams is removing the option to quit. Burn your shipsâcut off excuses, eliminate the easy way out, and commit fully to the path ahead. Only then will you discover the strength you didnât know you had.
