Lack of literacy results in exclusion of youths and adults from productive participation in their respective communities. SAJIDA Foundation is working towards providing quality education to children in the communities we work in, scaling-up functional literacy levels for youths and adults.

Farjana Akter was raised in an impoverished family, a stable and dignified life seemed a pipe dream. Upon becoming a member of SAJIDA’s SUDIN Program, she slowly begun to turn her life around, but difficulties did not leave her side. Farjana was not one to give up though.

More people are living in extreme poverty now than they were 10 years ago and by 2030, more than half of the poor in Bangladesh will be urban dwellers.
