✔ What To Do During an Earthquake? Important Safety Tips
1️⃣ Stay calm — do NOT run
Panic increases the chance of accidents.
2️⃣ Drop, Cover, and Hold On
Drop to the ground
Cover under a sturdy table/desk
Hold On to the legs of the table until shaking stops
3️⃣ Stay away from windows, glass, cabinets, and shelves
These can shatter or fall on you.
4️⃣ Do NOT use elevators
Use stairs only. Elevators may stop or fall.
5️⃣ If outdoors, move to an open area
Stay away from buildings, poles, trees, and signboards.
6️⃣ If inside a car—stop safely
Pull over away from bridges, flyovers, trees, and power lines.
7️⃣ Don’t rush outside immediately
Wait a few moments to avoid dangerous aftershocks.
8️⃣ Turn off gas and electrical connections
Prevents fire and explosions.
9️⃣ Keep an emergency kit ready
Include water, flashlight, power bank, first aid items, and essential medicine.
