Millenials and GenZ use ChatGPT for life advice. Not only ChatGPT, we use Claude, ChatGPT and any other AI chatbots that we can get our hands on and talk to it like its our business coach, relationship advisor, career advisor. And day by day we human getting dumber. We are not thinking enough.
We are letting AIs to dictate what we should be thinking, we should be doing, how we should be doing it. Instead of we being ourselves. That’s the real danger.
Ancient wisdom says, “The toughest job for human kind is thinking”. Now I can see why they said so. Its easier to ask AI then think for myself, why bother thinking.
But the problem we’re ignoring or overseeing is, we are losing our ability to not only think, we are losing the ability to see patterns in our own behaviour. AI knows what we want to hear. It will not say uncomfortable truth to us that we don’t want to hear about and so it is a better consulting partner, than a real human.
But truth is always always superior than false sugarcoated comfortable lies. We want to stay comfortable with things, we don’t want to see our own mistakes and create a mirage of our own self awareness that is far away from the true facts. And so we will never know about ourselves and get a bigger picture if we continue to take advices from AI all the time.
AI is not bad itself. The power it comes with, isn’t bad. The usage of it isn’t bad. The way we human use it, and the reasons we use it for is harmful. It compounds slowly, starts to build habits and accumulate to wire our brains into new thinking patterns to rely on AI instead. Slowly our own thinking get slower, blurry and we stop thinking.
