You do not need more AI tools.
You need a revenue-focused AI roadmap.
Here is a simple way to build one.
1️⃣ Start with one hard revenue target
Pick one clear 90 day goal.
→ Example targets:
- Close 20 more deals
- Add $50k in upsells
- Recover 15% of lost leads
Write one target on paper.
Today.
No target. No roadmap.
2️⃣ Map the process that drives that revenue
Ask yourself:
→ What steps lead to this money entering the account
→ Who touches each step
→ Where do leads or buyers drop
Draw it as 5 to 10 boxes.
From first touch to cash received.
Keep it simple.
3️⃣ Measure the current baseline
For each step, write:
→ Volume per week
→ Time per unit
→ Conversion rate
You want to see the leaks.
You want to see the delays.
You want to see the manual work.
4️⃣ List all tasks that slow revenue
Under each step, list tasks such as:
- Manual data entry
- Lead research
- Follow up emails
- Proposal writing
- Reporting and dashboards
Mark every task as:
H = high friction
R = high revenue impact
5️⃣ Turn tasks into automation candidates
For each H or R task, ask:
→ Is the input digital
→ Are the rules clear
→ Is there a clear success metric
If yes, it is an AI candidate.
Write a one line use case.
Example: "Draft follow up emails for no reply leads within 1 hour."
6️⃣ Prioritize by impact and effort
Create two columns.
Impact and effort.
Score each use case from 1 to 5.
→ Focus on high impact. Low or medium effort.
Pick your top 3.
7️⃣ Design one workflow at a time
For each of the 3, define:
→ Trigger
→ Input data
→ AI action
→ Human check
→ Final action
→ Metric
Only then pick tools.
Zapier. Make. CRM. ChatGPT. Internal apps.
Tech follows the workflow.
Not the other way around.
8️⃣ Launch a 14 day experiment
For each workflow, set:
→ Clear success metric linked to revenue
→ A weekly review slot
Run, review, refine.
Keep what moves revenue.
Drop what adds noise.
