In this world of technology, people have come up with many different new ideas to invent new things day by day. Like other invention, first recognizable social media site, Six Degrees was created in 1997 by Andrew Weinreich. It enabled users to upload a profile and make friends with other users. In 1999, the first blogging sites became popular, creating a social media sensation that’s still popular today. The Father of Social Media, Jonathan Abrams he always had an interest on knowing how people share links to each other. The world has seen web and the web has seen many things. With all those history people still have doubt on whether the invention of the social media was a wise thing to do or it brought more drawbacks to the world. And I am here to point out some of the advantages of social media to support it. First of all, it brought the people all around the world together, it helped people reach out each other when in need, and it saved many lives in their own way.
To elaborate more on the points pointed above, while its well known that social media platforms can divide us, it has also given us an opportunity to make connections with others. Making the world a such smaller place. Like making connection on social media, some people cannot interact normally in normal life so they will feel lonely inside, but thankfully with the help of social media, we can connect ourselves with anyone at anytime and anywhere. We can connect with people like our classmates, colleagues, family or friends with whom we have been departed due to some reason.
It even helped people to reach out to each other when they are in need or when some is in need. For example, when people are depressed and when they are unable to tell anyone about it, they choose platform such as Facebook, Instagram, twitter to share what and how they are truly feels. And through those post, if it’s someone that we know then we can reach out and help them to come up with what they are going through.
And now talking about how they saved many lives, when someone’s business is not running well due to lack of popularity, they can do online marketing to reach out to more people around the globe. It can help a business from failing if things are done through right way. Social media can help inform emergency responders so that they have the most up to date information and it can provide a community to those diagnosed with life-threatening diseases. With the help of social media one can even change their bad habits into a good one through blogs, video and motivational quotes.
Therefore, it can be proven that the invention of the social media wasn’t totally a mistake. If we know how to use it and when to use it, then it will be the most god gifted invention for the people. It can be poison if not used properly but can also be a holy water when used wisely. So, it solely depends on the individual user how to image them to the people and their own life. As ability is what we are capable of doing, motivation determines what we do and attitude determines how well we do it.
