Bad managers don’t just hurt careers.

They break people.

A few years back, I had a manager
who sent “urgent” emails at midnight,
questioned every small decision,
and made me feel replaceable.

I didn’t burn out because of the workload.
I burned out because of him.

The ugly truth?

It wasn’t therapy that helped.
It was finally leaving that job.

Here’s what I learned:

1. A paycheck isn’t worth daily dread
2. Respect matters more than perks
3. Your boss shapes your confidence
4. Toxic leadership is a health hazard

If managers have that much power over mental health…
maybe leadership should be treated like medicine.
