Part 1/3 📓
9 Days Overdue with Baby #2 🤰
I was a full 9 days “overdue” (which felt like 90 at times!) while my phone filled up with ‘just checking in’ texts.
I was so grateful for the text message from a loved one, but with each passing day and message I couldn’t help but feel the pressure to ‘get this baby out’

But as I tuned into that pressure, it was from outside of me. Internally I know with 100% certainty that baby would come when they were ready. And that was okay with me.
If you’ve ever felt the countdown clock start the second you hit 40 weeks you already know how loud that pressure gets.
Dave, Freddie, and I decided to soak up every bonus day instead of dreading it. I called it ‘Bonus Time’ and that it was.
Big mountain bike rides. Hikes. Coffee dates. Talking to strangers. We even went storm chasing just a few hours before I went into labour.
What did I learn?
Adventure is always the cure. Women’s bodies KNOW what to do. Babies aren’t late.
Looking back now, those 9 extra days weren’t a delay at all... they were the blessing of a lifetime. So many memories as a family of three, right before we became four.
