I was talking with a client the other day and she was overwhelmed — she had about 5 different marketing ideas she wanted to launch and had no idea where to start (have you been there, too!? 🙋‍♀️)

So I asked her one simple question before we talked about ANY of it…

What’s your business GOAL for the next 90 days?

Because here’s the thing — the answer to that question changes EVERYTHING.

If her goal is revenue? Then we’re talking about landing deals, following up with leads, and closing sales.

That’s where her time goes.

But she mentioned she’s also heading into a busy PERSONAL season and the idea of adding MORE felt like too much… so if reducing stress is the real goal? Then maybe starting a back end project (like finally releasing her podcast!) makes more sense… a long-term visibility play that compounds over time without demanding she show up everywhere all at once.

Same person. Two totally different strategies. Both valid.

The strategy isn’t the problem. The missing mission is. 💡

So before you add anything new to your plate or scrap what’s not working… pause and ask yourself what you actually need in the next 90 days.

The right marketing move gets a lot clearer after that.

This might be a bit of a surprise 😮 given my role as a digital marketing expert— but here’s the thing… YES it’s important to be omnipresent (show up in MANY places to promote your business) but it’s ALSO important to pay attention to where your qualified leads ACTUALLY come from!!!

Prior to 2020… 30% of my business came directly from Instagram! 🤯 📱

Today? Less than 10%!!

📈 and I know this because I track data every single month ! (& you should, too 😉)

So it’s not that Instagram isn’t a valuable space for me to hangout, converse , and share my life as a secondary touch point. It’s just not the PRIORITY in this season of business where I have more limited hours to devote to marketing strategy!

If you’re feeling ANY amount of overwhelm with your marketing— be sure to track attribution / where leads come from, as that can simplify your focus 👀 (& also, experiment with new strategies when time permits / in seasons where you’re looking to build momentum ⚡️)

Ranging from your website, your messaging, your social media, your media / PR, your thought leadership publications…
