Have you heard the saying, 'The early bird catches the worm?'
If you are operating an online business, or maintaining an online presence, which you should, you would do well to remember this.
According to research by Forrester, 77% of customers claim they appreciate it when companies don't waste their time.
If a customer reaches out to you, and you take too long to respond, they are likely to go elsewhere with their query and if they get an answer faster, they are more likely to go with the second company. That means you lost a customer and a potential referral down the line.
To make things worse, Google Business and most other social media platforms actually track your response rate and calculate an average response time, letting the customer know how long you might take to respond. If the person reaching out is in need of a quick reply, they will probably contact at least a couple of other options as well to be on the safe side.
Solution: Just be quicker with your responses or hire a dedicated manager to handle all your queries. You can also set up an automated response chain for the frequently asked questions.
