A good time of year to reflect on what you have learned, and as a result; what have you refined, changed, or implemented?

Thought for the Day ~ Life's Simple Pleasures

Always do your best…..make sure that you enjoy the basic blessings of life as your path unfolds. There is so much pressure to participate in the fast paced and soulless world that we live in, and too many of us believe the big lie. That happiness comes with the acquisition of things. It doesn’t. Happiness is a state of mind that is created by the way you process and interpret the events of your life. It is the understanding that most things will be okay eventually, but not everything will be. Sometimes despite our best-efforts things don’t turn out the way we hoped that they would. Sometimes we hold on really hard and realize that there is no choice but to let go. Acceptance is a small quiet room where we must sometimes contemplate the unacceptable.

And, since acceptance dwells nowhere but in our minds we must examine the questions we ask ourselves. Stop focusing on what you want, what you desire, and what you can accumulate. Ask yourself instead, what has been given to me? What do I have to give back? Then give it. Let yourself discover the wonders of your mind. How it can regulate its thoughts, fostering some of them, and dismissing others. The subtle parts of your mind will speak to you if you keep quiet long enough to let them. Good and evil will always exist. Only one clear criterion marks an action as good or evil; if it increases the amount of love in the world, it is good. If it separates and divides people and creates anger it is bad. So, give your very best to the world. Set your default on love and the enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures. Choose carefully what you pay attention to and what you ignore, these things make up your life. And so, it is. Namaste.

Robin Sharma said “Most of us miss out on life’s big prizes. The Pulitzer. The Nobel. Oscars, and Emmys. But we are all eligible for life’s small pleasures. A pat on the back. A kiss behind the ear. A four-pound bass. A full moon. An empty parking space. A crackling fire. A great meal. A glorious sunset. Hot soup. Cold beer. Don’t fret about life’s grand awards. Enjoy its tiny delights. There are plenty for all of us.”

Thought for the Day ~ A Message for Spirit

Always do your best......and have the courage to stand alone in the wilderness. The courage and the willingness to be both vulnerable and strong as you navigate the peaks and the valleys of your life. It will be a great and continuous unfolding. Because the things that you have resolved in your life will need to be resolved again, and again. You will learn things that can only be learnt with the wisdom of age and the grace of years. Most of those things will have to do with forgiveness. They will have to do with the examination of your choices and the effect of them on your life. Most things will be okay eventually but not everything will be, and so acceptance becomes a small quiet room. A room where we must be willing to brave the wilderness, and the darkness in order to find our own light.

Transformation doesn't mean that you stop being yourself. Rather it demands that you find a way back to the authenticity and the strength that has always been inside of you. You do not have to plant yourself in life; you have to bloom. While fear may come along and try to stop you from living your life authentically; be courageous anyway. People may be intimidated by your strength, your light, and your power. Be courageous anyway. The one person that you must trust beyond all else, is yourself. That person is the gatekeeper to all the glory that life has to offer. Remember.... two emotions cannot occupy our mind at the same time, so if you are consumed with fear, you cannot act out of love. So, today, be still and listen to what feels right, not what's wrong. Courage is the price that life exacts for granting peace. Take a step-in faith. And so, it is. Namaste.

Brene Brown said "Belonging so fully to yourself that you're willing to stand alone in the wilderness; an untamed, unpredictable place of solitude and searching. It is a place as dangerous as it is breathtaking, a place as sought after as it is feared. The wilderness can often feel unholy because we can't control it. But it turns out to be the place of true belonging, and it's the bravest and most sacred place you will ever stand. The special courage it takes to experience true belonging is not just about braving the wilderness, it's about becoming the wilderness. It's about breaking down the walls, abandoning our ideological bunkers, and living from our wild heart rather than our weary hurt."

Thought for the Day ~ Hearts and Minds

Today's Challenge ~ Find ways to engage people through compassion and kindness let your leadership shine. Actualize your Humanity.

Always do your best......there is leading with title; but to reach the level of extraordinary we must lead with our hearts too. It is said that first people follow the vision, and then they must follow the leader. If not then ex*****on stalls and people disengage. Brilliant strategies never come to life if a leader is unable to capture both the hearts and minds of their employees. Ultimately, leadership is about actualizing your humanity. It is about not only bringing positive change, but about recognizing change fatigue. It is about moving quickly and then slowing down to evaluate; allowing everyone to see, think, and then do. Reflection and course correction can never happen effectively if you always have the peddle to the metal. Leaders who manage with heart and mind, know the wisdom of treating people with respect, compassion, and kindness and they problem solve, they don't blame.

They have mastered the art of push then pull in their leadership style. Because if all they do is push, they end up with a team of exhausted people. Tired people make mistakes, and they disengage mentally and emotionally. There is a fine balance between striving and living. If all we do is strive to work, then we miss out on living; and we cannot achieve our professional and personal goals. Strong leadership requires us to honour and dignify the lives of those we lead. We can only do this if we speak the truth to ourselves when we hold the mirror up. Too often we only ask ourselves did they understand what I said? When we should also be asking ourselves is, how did they feel? When you slow down periodically, you will see the things that matter the most. Great leaders treat people like they believe in them and in doing so, they capture both the hearts and minds of those they lead. Namaste.

Robin Sharma said "Manage by mind, lead by heart. Every visionary leader has mastered the practice of deeply connecting to their followers. They have refined the art of clarifying their vision for the benefit of their people in a way that fully engages and stirs them into action. Through their people skills and talents as effective communicators, visionary leaders touch the hearts of their team and earn long-term loyalty. One of the deepest of all human hungers is the need to be cherished and understood. Let your humanity shine at work and treat people with courtesy and kindness. Simply put, when you enrich the relationship, you enhance the leadership."
