Apparently, I’m a little “woo-woo.” 🔮✌️

My best friend Christa calls it my “woogly-googly” side—and honestly, she’s not wrong. I teach yoga, after all. A little hippy-dippy energy comes with the territory. 😂🧘‍♀️

But I’ve learned that sometimes you need to hack your morning before the day gets the chance to hack YOU.

Every morning on my way to the Chamber, I listen to “GOOD DAY” by Forrest Frank. It reminds me that even when frustrating, annoying or downright ridiculous things happen—and trust me, it’s election season, so there is A LOT happening—it can still be a GREAT day.

Experience That’s Ready to Work for Ward 3

What does a successful business owner bring to the role of Ward 3 Councillor?

More than you might think.

For more than 20 years, I’ve built and managed successful local businesses in Port Perry. That experience has taught me much more than running a business. It has meant managing people and resources, making financial decisions, solving problems, adapting to challenges and taking responsibility for the results.

It has also taught me something I believe is essential at Council: you don’t solve problems alone. You listen, bring people together, consider different perspectives and work collaboratively toward practical solutions.

My commitment to our community goes beyond business. Through years of volunteering, community organizations, charitable initiatives and local events, I’ve had the opportunity to give back, build relationships and better understand the people who make Ward 3 home.

These are skills I believe Ward 3 needs today.

We need strong leadership and fiscal responsibility. We need smart growth and strong infrastructure. We need to protect our water and environment while supporting a stronger local economy and community.

Most importantly, we need a Councillor who will listen, understand the bigger picture, ask the right questions and follow through.

I’m ready to bring my business experience, management skills, community connections and problem-solving approach to Township Council — and to work collaboratively with residents and our community partners to get things done.

I’m ready to listen. Ready to act. Ready to serve.

Happy Labour Day weekend, Scugog! 🇨🇦

For many of us, this weekend means a little extra time with family and friends and one last chance to enjoy the final days of summer.

But Labour Day is also an important opportunity to recognize the generations of hardworking Canadians who helped build our communities and fought for safer workplaces, fair working conditions and the rights workers have today.

Yesterday, I had the chance to stop by a local farmers’ market and it was a great reminder of just how much hard work happens every day right here in Scugog.

From our farmers and growers to local business owners, tradespeople, employees, service workers and everyone who gets up each day and contributes to our community — thank you.

And there’s no better way to celebrate a long weekend than bringing a little bit of Scugog home with you. Fresh local produce certainly doesn’t hurt! 🌽🍅🥕

However you’re spending the weekend, I hope you have the opportunity to relax, enjoy our community and spend some time with the people who matter most.

What a great weekend at the Port Perry Fair!

It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, meet neighbours and enjoy the agricultural exhibits, livestock, midway and family activities that make this Fair such a special community tradition.

Thank you to everyone who stopped to say hello and share a conversation. I’m proud to be part of this community—and ready to serve it.

🎡 Another successful Port Perry Fair!

It was wonderful to spend some time at the Port Perry Fair and see so many familiar faces enjoying one of our community’s long-standing traditions.

A huge congratulations and thank you to the organizers, volunteers, sponsors and participants who made this year’s Fair possible. Events like this take an incredible amount of planning, preparation and hard work — much of it carried out by dedicated volunteers who give their time because they care about our community.

From setup to three full days of activities and right through to teardown, there are countless hours behind the scenes that most of us never see.

Thank you to everyone who played a part in making the 2026 Port Perry Fair such a success. 👏

Congratulations on a job well done — and I know the work will soon begin again for 2027!
