Most people don’t struggle on LinkedIn because they lack a good offer…
They struggle because their messages feel like sales messages.
You’ve seen them.
You’ve probably received five today already.
“Hope you’re doing well.”
“Just wanted to reach out.”
“I help companies like yours…”
And within two lines your brain has already decided:
🚩 This is a pitch
🚩 This is automated
🚩 Ignore
The reality is simple — LinkedIn is not an email platform, and it’s definitely not a cold-call substitute.
It’s a trust environment.
People aren’t sitting there hoping a stranger sells them something. They’re scanning for signals:
✔ Is this person genuine?
✔ Is this conversation safe?
✔ Does this feel human?
The highest-performing messages rarely “sell” anything.
They don’t lead with services.
They don’t push meetings.
They don’t sound like marketing copy.
They sound like normal professional conversation.
Curiosity beats persuasion.
Observation beats positioning.
Permission beats pressure.
Instead of trying to impress people with what you do…
Start by lowering resistance.
Instead of leading with your solution…
Start with something relatable.
Instead of pushing your calendar link…
Start by earning micro-engagement.
Because the hard truth is this:
No one ignores messages because LinkedIn is “saturated.”
They ignore messages because they instantly recognize a sales pattern.
And once that pattern is triggered, the conversation is over before it begins.
Small shifts in language completely change response behavior:
💬 “Quick question” vs “I help companies…”
💬 “Worth sharing?” vs “Book a call”
💬 “Curious about your experience” vs “Let me tell you about…”
Tiny differences. Massive impact.
If LinkedIn conversations feel harder than they should…
If your connection requests get accepted but replies are rare…
If your outreach feels like it’s hitting a wall…
You’re not alone — and more importantly, it’s fixable.
I’m breaking this down step-by-step in my upcoming LinkedIn workshop, where we’ll look at:
✅ Why most messages fail instantly
✅ How to write messages people actually respond to
✅ The psychology behind reply-driven communication
✅ Simple frameworks you can use immediately
