The City of Calgary has awarded $29.3 million to create 566 non-market homes through the Housing Capital Initiative. Six non-profit applicants were selected for their projects, which will provide urgently needed housing in Calgary. The initiative aims to increase non-market housing supply and support low-income Calgarians. Mayor Jeromy Farkas emphasizes the city's commitment to affordable housing, stating, "Housing is foundational to individual wellbeing and the resilience of our city."

Successful applicants include:
- Trellis Foundation for Community Impact
- Multi-Generational Housing and Community Care (Citizens Calgary)
- Liberty Housing Organization
- Norfolk Housing Association
- HomeSpace Society
- Onward Homes Society
