REMINDER:

When logging onto a platform, whether the Success.Legal ecosystem, Facebook, Amazon, or anything, you must use your proper login credentials.

If you created an account using [email protected] as your User Name, then trying to login using johnnyboy25@hotmail instead of [email protected] will fail.

Attempting to use an incorrect User Name is similar to trying to use the key to your Ford car to unlock and drive your Chevrolet pick up truck.

HAVE AN ISSUE SIGNING IN TO OPA.website?
Anyone having a Sign-In issue almost always stems from fragmented identities. Some users have created multiple accounts for themselves using different email addresses or credentials over a span of time and then expect numerous distinct identities to magically sync.

Ways to Sign-In:

1. : Most members of the web-platform use a format like ".Lastname" which thousands of people have done, and everyone should (as peer-to-peer messaging features require it).

2. Law Society Ontario (LSO) License Number: If you’ve previously bound your LSO number to your profile, then you can also Sign-In with it as your account ID instead of using your email address.

3. Email Address: Use your email only if you've never yet configured yourself for options 1 or 2. After configuring a and your LSO number, use those, which can never become ambiguous due to your having multiple email addresses.

Forgotten your password?
Click the flashing "LOST PASSWORD" button on the Sign-In screen. Enter the email address associated with your account, and your current password will be emailed to you.

Why does fragmenting your identity cause problems?
Creating multiple accounts (with different emails or credentials) not only complicates Sign-In but also fragments your professional profile and data records:

CPD hours/credits: Spread across identities, make tracking impossible.
Certificates: Scattered and inaccessible.
Receipts and invoices: Scattered and inaccessible.
Messages and leads: Fragmented, causing missed connections.
File uploads: Scattered and inaccessible.

You cannot possess multiple profiles or split identities. If duplicates exist, they must be deleted. When a duplicate profile is deleted, all associated CPD credits, certificates, receipts, and files are permanently lost.

One account does it all:
Your OPA account is a Sign-In Passport. The same Sign-In works across all websites throughout the entire Success.Legal ecosystem. Keeping one account ensures everything stays in one place.

Let’s all work to stop creating unnecessary issues.

What Is the Purpose of Success.Legal?

Success.Legal Corporation is an entity created to serve the broad legal community with focus on technology and education services delivered via a network of online tools. Here are few more details:

Success.Legal Corporation

Success.Legal is the parent corporate entity to an entire suite of webware serving the legal professions. Success.Legal focuses upon two main areas; Technology and Education and before doing anything in either area, we always put ideas through an I.C.U. (yes, I see you, LOL) test.

For Technology ideas, the I.C.U. test involves asking:

Is this genuinely Innovative?
Is this Convenient and easy to use as well as Cohesive with other technology?
Is this truly a Useful Utility?

For Education ideas, the I.C.U. test involves asking:

Is this Informative and Interesting?
Is this broadly Communicable?
Is this readily Understandable?
If the answers to these questions are "no", then we refrain from moving forward on an idea. However, and thankfully, our ideas receive a lot of yes's.

Marketing.Legal: https://marketing.legal/EN/

This was this first brainstorm. The Marketing.Legal initiative was developed specifically to help lawyers and paralegals to better promote their services, attract more clients - including more quality clients, and to thereby enjoy more business profitability.

Marketing.Legal offers a webware package that includes a special website platform that is, among other things, fed webpage articles from a Content Library containing over 600 turn-key articles on common topics that the clients of lawyers and paralegals will, or should, find interesting.

The Marketing.Legal webware also includes synchronized cohesion with the common Clio legal software, common calendar systems such as Calendy, Google, Outlook, etc.

The Marketing.Legal webware also has direct email marketing capabilities, similar to MailChimp, that enable targeted bulk email campaigns.

The Marketing.Legal webware is also cohesive with every other aspect of the Success.Legal family enabling legal colleagues to quickly and easily swap leads that come in through a Marketing.Legal website to another colleague via the Referrals.Legal system.

Referrals.Legal: https://referrals.legal/EN/

The Referrals.Legal system is continuing to evolve as an engine that enables the public as well as legal professionals to quickly and easily give, take, and swap, client leads and business opportunities. The system is much more than just a passive 'directory' of who is who and who does what. The system is smart. Imagine a dating service that uses artificial intelligence to match potential mates based upon personal characteristics, etc. This is, in part, what Referrals.Legal does by helping to match prospective clients up with the best suited legal practitioner for the specific issue involved. The Referrals.Legal system also enables practitioners to set up a circle of friends, essentially creating a first degree of separation, for those who the practitioner primarily wants to give, take, and swap, leads with.

The Referrals.Legal system has a very sophisticated plan for what it can, and will eventually, be able to do. It is currently quite advanced in its abilities and yet it is still just getting started.

CPD.Legal: https://cpd.legal/EN/

The CPD.Legal system is also a smart system that is evolving using artificial intelligence. Once a practitioner has created a profile page (that syndicates across the Success.Legal network), CPD.Legal then knows the areas of law that are within the interests of the practitioner. From there, CPD.Legal can provide notifications of upcoming CPD events that are a fit for the interests of the practitioner. Additionally, the system tracks completed CPD hours, makes suggestions if it detects that someone is short on hours as the December 31st deadline of the Law Society approaches, etc. The CPD.Legal system also, like everything in the Success.Legal network, syndicates details to the other parts of the network via profile data. Accordingly, Referrals.Legal knows, or will as it evolves, who has taken CPD's on specific topics and therefore who is the most qualified match for a prospective client with legal issues within those specific topics. For example, CPD.Legal knows when someone has taken the Defective Workmanship CPD and shares this data with Referrals.Legal so that when Referrals.Legal needs to match a prospective client with a legal professional knowledgeable in defective workmanship cases, this can happen. Accordingly, CPD.Legal does much more than just sell CPD's. It also produces and publishes Certificate of Attendance documents that syndicate via the Profile page of practitioners, in one easy to locate spot should the Law Society audit CPD hours.

Mentoring.Legal: https://mentoring.legal/EN/

The Mentoring.Legal system also works like a match-maker by helping to connect practitioners with less experience with a specific legal issue to those practitioners with significant experience with a specific legal issue.

The Mentoring.Legal system is a substitute for the common practice of using Facebook groups to ask for assistance whereas the problem of doing so in Facebook groups is that 1,500 colleagues can see the request for assistance and then recognize that the person seeking assistance is unfamiliar with the issue. This can be especially concerning if the opposing representative on a matter is a member of the Facebook group and is therefore also alerted. Instead, Mentoring.Legal enables a more discreet method for getting help when a practitioner needs help.

Placement.Legal: https://placement.legal/EN/

The Placement.Legal system, which is also still evolving, also works as a match-maker by connecting students with suitable placement hosts. It makes very little sense for a student who is excited to learn about employment law to do placement in a criminal law office. Placement.Legal helps to bring students into contact with placement hosts of similar interest in their practice areas.

Courts.Watch: https://courts.watch/EN/

The Courts.Watch system, also evolving, publishes Zoom links for court hearings and tribunal hearings thereby enabling practitioners to quickly and easily find hearings that might be of interest to observe and learn from. Additionally, the practitioners that are appearing at certain courts or tribunals can list themselves as available to file documents or appear as an agent for other practitioners.

Much More Coming

In addition to the above, there is much more coming. Employ.Legal, Offices.Legal, and Suppliers.Legal, should be up and running in 2024.

As you can see, the Success.Legal network is doing amazing things, and it is really just getting started.

Network of Web-Application Utilities for Legal Professionals. Leverage the Success.Legal network for client growth, peer referrals, and professional development, including CPD events and marketing strategies, while connecting with the legal community.

Dear Colleagues/Clients, Friends & Family:

Over the past several weeks, I've found myself at the centre of an increasingly complex and challenging situation, one that touches on both personal and professional realms. I feel it's important to share the context and my motives, especially given my position within the legal profession and the nature of the debates that unfolded.

Initially, my engagement in social media debates was driven by a deeply personal concern: a senior family member had become deeply entrenched in radical right-wing conspiracy theories. My goal was simple and heartfelt – to use logic and satire to guide them back to a sense of reality and reason. However, what began as an attempt to protect and educate a loved one soon spiraled into something much larger and more contentious.

A business acquaintance, who has been receiving products from me wholesale, began to amplify extreme right-wing rhetoric on my posts, including extreme tangents about government surveillance. His vehement stance on this topic, I began to suspect and have come to understand, likely stems from a fear of his own criminality being uncovered. It has come to my attention that this individual has been using products obtained from my legitimate business, for subsequent re-sale business activities involving fraud and tax evasion.

As someone with a 27-year career as a digital systems engineer and as a CEO serving legal professionals, I found my principles and expertise being mocked, and my professional integrity challenged.
As the debate intensified, I continued to use satire to counter the absurdity of the claims being presented. Yet, I now reflect that this approach may have impacted my public optics and business integrity, a matter I do not take lightly.

The crux of the issue lies in the realization of my business acquaintance's fraudulent practices and my professional and moral obligations in light of this knowledge. I cannot in good conscience ignore the significant tax evasion and fraudulent activities I am aware of. To do so would not only compromise my ethical standards but also potentially associate me with criminal behavior.

Thus, I am faced with a profound moral dilemma: balancing the maintenance of personal relationships against upholding my civic and legal duties. After careful deliberation, and in consultation with legal counsel, I am considering a meeting with a Justice of the Peace regarding my knowledge of the tax frauds and evasion circumstances. This decision is not made lightly but out of a commitment to the legal integrity and ethical standards that guide our profession.

I share this with you to provide transparency about my actions and to reaffirm my commitment to the principles that guide our legal community. The journey here has been fraught with personal and professional challenges, but I stand firm in my belief that we must always strive to do what is right, even when it is difficult.
Thank you for taking the time to understand the situation and my position on this matter. Your support and understanding are greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Steve McEachern
