Unlike FB, the lack of automatically imaging a URL pasted in a post in IG is totally lame, and the lack of being able to click on a URL in a post, equally lame, try selecting and copying a URL from an IG post on your phone 🙄

I've always had an affinity for maps, viewing them in detail, exploring them, doing research, collecting them and even printing on top of them in my letterpress shop, I nearly got into a mapmaking program in the mid-70's but opted for graphic design and printing instead.

Now I'd say I have the best of both worlds, as I get to create and produce maps for my clients' marketing materials as well as books based on early naval explorations.

CANADIAN TYPOGRAPHY ARCHIVES
• this Alcuin Society event aired while I was out of town in January this year, but I managed to track down the recorded presentation by Rod McDonald
• at last, a group of dedicated volunteers has banded together to provide Canadian designers and typography aficionados a repository of Canadian content, in their own words:

“Canadian Typography Archives intends to document the histories of type and typography in Canada, whether currently public, privately held or still to be discovered and shared.”

One could say I’ve been a PRINT MAKER for my entire career, whether I was actually operating the printing presses or not, I’ve made a lot of printing happen over the years.

Here's a little early gift I treated myself to recently, a recent reprint of an out-of-print volume from Uppercase magazine’s series of Encyclopedias of Inspiration.
