March For Trans and Queer Justice March against 2SLGBTGDQQIA++ Hate, Discrimination, and Violence We will meet at North Park and Cogswell by the art display.

This page is to promote a March being organized during Halifax pride in light of the staggering amounts of hate, discrimination, and violence against 2SLGBTGDQQIA++ communities. With Two-Spirit, trans, and gender diverse folks being highly targeted we feel this year we must stand up, speak out, demand change, and we must go back to our roots of protest. In 1988 Halifax held its first pride week an

d they held a pride/protest March- no floats, no corporate sponsors- protesting discrimination and hate. We are choosing to first meet at the Halifax Commons to start the March, where this original March took place. We feel we need the power of history on our backs, of those who Marched before us, and hoped we would not still need to 35 years later.
