Jennifer Ivany Hoar - My Rebirth Journey

Jennifer Ivany Hoar - My Rebirth Journey I was a labour and delivery nurse for over 20 years, but PTSD and a heart attack made me have to change my career path. https://linktr.ee/jenhrn98

I now have my own online business and feel like I’ve been blessed!

I used to think having your life figured out meant choosing a path and sticking with it. ☺️👇

25 years in nursing made that feel pretty believable.

Then life forced me to reconsider what came next.

I went from knowing my job inside and out to being a beginner again - learning business, marketing, technology and an entirely different way of working.

That part was uncomfortable.

But being a beginner at 50 has taught me something I wish I understood at 30:

You don’t lose the person you were when you start a new chapter.

You take her experience, mistakes, skills and stories with you.

Starting again isn’t starting from zero. ❤️🌿

What I’m learning right now…

You don’t have to have your whole life figured out before you make a change.

At 51, I’m learning things I never thought I’d need to know.

Marketing.
Sales.
Social media.
Running an online business.
Creating content.
And apparently… filming myself doing completely normal things. 😂

I spent 25 years knowing exactly what I was doing as a nurse.

Starting over meant being willing to be a beginner again.

And I think that might be one of the best skills I’ve learned yet.

21 days of storytelling… DONE! 🎉

I went into this challenge thinking I’d learn how to create better content - and I did. I picked up new editing tricks, got more comfortable sharing my story, and learned a lot about myself along the way.

What I didn’t expect was how therapeutic it would be. ❤️

So naturally… I signed up for more 😂

Next up: Jun Yuh’s 5-week VIP Challenge. I’m curious to see what this next chapter brings.

Follow along - apparently we’re not done yet! 😉

Sometimes we fight through the mental exhaustion because we convince ourselves we can handle just a little more.

We keep showing up. Keep pushing. Keep pretending we’re okay.

Until something happens that makes stopping no longer a choice.

Sometimes taking time off isn’t giving up. It’s finally realizing that you can’t keep pouring from an empty cup. ❤️

Your mental health deserves attention before your body forces you to listen.

If I could sit down with my 30-year-old self, I’d have so much to tell her. ❤️👇

I’d tell her to stop worrying so much about what everyone else thinks.

To take the pictures. Make the memories. Say no without feeling guilty. Say yes to the things that scare her a little.

I’d tell her that her career is important - but it isn’t her whole identity.

That some people are only meant to be part of one chapter.

That starting over isn’t failing.

That taking care of herself isn’t selfish.

And most importantly, I’d tell her not to wait for life to force her to change before she starts choosing the life she really wants.

It took me until my 50s to understand some of these things.

Maybe someone in their 30s needs to hear them today. ❤️🌿

What’s something you know now that you wish you knew 20 years ago?

What’s the first thing you reach for in the morning? 📱

I used to start my day by immediately checking my phone - messages, notifications, social media… letting the outside world have my attention before I’d even given any to myself.

Personal development has taught me to be more intentional about how I start my day.

Now I try to do a few things for ME first. ☕️
Move my body.
Listen to something positive.
Think about what I want from the day.
Take a few quiet minutes before the noise begins.

It sounds small, but the way you start your morning can set the tone for everything that follows.

Your phone can wait.

Start your day with yourself first. ❤️🌿

🎧 Motivational podcasts… definitely not something the old me would have had playing in the background.

Since discovering personal development, I’ve become much more intentional about what I’m putting into my mind every day.

Instead of just filling the silence, I’ll throw on a podcast that challenges the way I think, gives me a different perspective, or reminds me where I’m headed.

And now, it’s actually part of my routine.

In my business, we follow 6 Daily Activities for Success, and listening to something motivational or focused on personal development is one of them.

Because building a business isn’t only about what you do.

It’s also about who you’re becoming while you do it. ❤️

Funny how something I never used to think twice about has become one of my favourite parts of the day.

Small daily habits really can change the way you see yourself, your goals, and what might be possible for your life.

Motherhood… what a journey. ❤️

From the days when they were little and I was their whole world, to watching them grow into their own people - every chapter has changed me just as much as it has changed them.

There have been so many beautiful memories along the way. The ordinary days that I didn’t realize would someday become the moments I’d give anything to relive. The laughter, the chaos, the milestones, the traditions, the vacations, the baseball games… all the little pieces that became our story.

And there have been hard chapters too.

Separating from their dad meant accepting that our family was going to look different than I once imagined. There was change, uncertainty and a lot of learning along the way.

But one of the greatest lessons life has taught me is that different doesn’t have to mean broken. Sometimes a new chapter can hold just as much love - it simply looks different than the one you originally planned.

Now, as my kids get older, motherhood is changing again. I’m still their mom, always… but I also get little glimpses of friendship. ❤️

Conversations become deeper. They teach me things. We laugh differently. I get to know the adults they’re becoming, and there’s something incredibly special about that.

Personal development has taught me that life isn’t about holding onto the way things were supposed to be. It’s about learning to appreciate where you are, growing through what you’ve been through, and recognizing the beauty in every new season.

I wouldn’t change the journey.

Because every version of motherhood — and every version of me — brought us here. ❤️

Sometimes the life you thought you wanted becomes the life you realize you’ve outgrown.

For years, I measured success by how much I could do, how hard I could work, and how much I could give to everyone else. I kept pushing, believing that was what I was supposed to do.

Then life forced me to see things differently.

I started choosing myself. Choosing growth. Choosing time with my family. Choosing a life built around what truly matters to me — not just what I thought success was supposed to look like.

The biggest change wasn’t just my career or my circumstances.

It was my perspective. ❤️

Same person. Different priorities. Different perspective. Different life.

Sometimes a second chance isn’t about going back to who you were… it’s about becoming who you were meant to be. ❤️🌿

I spent so many years putting my career first. I loved being a nurse, I loved helping people, and I gave so much of myself to the work I did.

Somewhere along the way, I forgot that life doesn’t wait. My health forced me to stop, and suddenly the career I had built my life around could no longer come first.

I had to figure out who I was outside of nursing and what I wanted this next chapter of my life to look like. I started rebuilding-with different priorities, a different perspective, and a determination to create a life that gave me more time for the people who matter most.

I got a second chance. ❤️

Today, family comes first. My career still matters to me, but it no longer defines my life or gets the best of me.

Sometimes the biggest wake-up calls lead us to the life we should have been living all along.

Second chances are meant to be lived differently. ❤️
