Not that long ago, when you needed a plumber or a really good taco, you'd Google it, scroll past the ads, and pick someone from the list.
Now you Google it and an AI answer sits right at the top, already naming who to call. And a growing bunch of people skip the search box altogether and just ask Claude or ChatGPT "who should I go to?"
Either way, here's the question that gets a little scary if you run a small business: when AI does the recommending, does your name even come up?
I got right into this over coffee with Alexia Burke and Matthew Andrews, the Queen's grads behind Kingston's own Seekly, who help local businesses show up in those AI answers.
More on all of it soon, including what the shift means for the little guys doing their own marketing. If "getting found online" is rattling around in your head lately, stay tuned. 👀
Say hi to the Seekly crew at https://seekly.ca or workwithseekly .
