I'd been sitting in front of my laptop for 6 hours. Around me sat a cold half-drunk coffee, a much too large water bottle and the remains of numerous snacks. According to my calendar, it was time for me to switch focus from writing my client's content to writing my own.
Deep breath. I stood up, interlaced my fingers and took a big stretch. "I can do this," I thought.
{Spoiler: I couldn't do it} I sat back down, ready to dive into writing my own content, but instead? I emailed my wedding planner, updated our financial spreadsheet, and did some useless googling. 🤦
Ugh - the guilt. I could - and was - spending ALL day, EVERY day writing some kick-ass (I know I'm biased) content for my clients, but at the end of the day, I couldn't bring myself to write my own.
Eventually, I gave myself the gift of letting it go for a while.
To pour my energy into serving my current clients.
To rely on referral.
To rest.
And while my digital marketing break was far from planned, it taught me a lot!
