The PhD-Community Initiative at Queen’s University and Kingston Economic Development Corporation are exploring strategies to support retirees or individuals in their late careers to engage in entrepreneurship, mentoring and 2nd or 3rd careers. The PhD-Community Initiative is a program in which teams of students partner with community organizations to support an issue of strategic importance to the

ir operations. Kingston Economic Development Corporation would like to explore strategies to encourage and support retirees or individuals in their late careers who want to pursue entrepreneurship, start second or third careers, or share their expertise as a mentor. We want to hear from you to better understand how to support them. It is anticipated to take 15 minutes to complete. Meet Lauren, Francisco, Venika, Fidaku, Si, and Jean-Pierre, 6 PhD students participating in the PhD-Community Initiative, a program that connects teams of graduate students with local organizations to support initiatives in the community.

The team is working with the Kingston Economic Development Corporation to develop a Senior Entrepreneurship and Mentorship Program! This initiative aims to empower retirees and individuals in their late careers by providing support to start new businesses, explore second or third careers, or share their expertise as mentors.
