What an incredible, whirlwind week in Vancouver, British Columbia!✨
We’re still processing all the shifting perspectives, inspiring conversations, and amazing talks from Web Summit Vancouver. As storytellers, seeing the intersection of technology, creative industry, and global community firsthand was nothing short of inspiring.
A few major highlights from our time at the summit:
🎬 The Creative Tech Future & Spatial Design: Diving into the pre-summit Tech Advantage Tours was an incredible way to start the week. Touring the new Sony Pictures Imageworks space was a visual treat—the building's interior architecture is absolutely stunning, beautifully reflecting the high-caliber creativity that happens within its walls. Combined with visits to the Centre for Digital Media and Kabam, it gave us a front-row seat to how Vancouver is evolving as a global powerhouse for digital arts, tech infrastructure, and inspiring workspace design.
🎮 Big News for 2027: Speaking of Kabam, they shared an exciting industry update that we know will interest many of our Asian followers and creators: CanAsia—a massive gaming summit—is officially coming to Web Summit Vancouver in 2027! While gaming is a distinct corner of the tech world, seeing this kind of cross-continental innovation land in Vancouver is a huge value-add for the local ecosystem.
☕ The Austrian Innovation Ecosystem: A huge thank you to ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Canada, ABA – INVEST in Austria, Austria in Canada, and the Austrian Consulate in Vancouver for hosting their exclusive networking breakfast as a phenomenal Web Summit kickoff. It was wonderful collaborating and keeping the momentum going with the Austrian delegation throughout the entire week. Connecting with innovative people from various regions and chatting with one of the masterminds behind alise.systems—an Austrian company that perfectly embodies this cross-border spirit by expanding its roots to Montreal—made for an unforgettable morning.
Beyond the stages, the real magic of the week was simply meeting so many interesting people and gathering fresh perspectives on where digital media is headed. Thank you, Vancouver, for being such an incredible host city. The future of creative storytelling is bright! 🚀
