I’m not saying this to scare you.

I know your small business probably can’t afford the plethora of tools that your biggest competitors are using.

But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be aware of how they operate.

If you can learn how they move then you can simplify their process to and integrate the scaled down version within your workflow.

It’s kind of like having the instructions to build an IKEA unit with a few missing screws. 🔩🤔

Then deciding which holes you ABSOLUTELY need to fill for the unit to stand, regardless of whats missing.

Today, writing matters more, not less. Yet, in a content-filled, oversalted, world of bad writing it’s tricky to see the value in mastering the skill.

Well, with GPTs and all writing content for us— we’ve become lazy.

But robots are not genuine or engaging. They’re convenient. As good as groceries from a gas station. You’ll eat, not well.

With bots you’ll write, but not well.

That’s because in writing:

You matter.
Your voice matters.
Your voice is what sets you apart.

Instead of writing for a quota, or a sale, write to create useful, inspiring and empathetic content. At the very least, try to.

I’ve taken some time off of content curation because I fell into the abyss of generated content.

Like all good drugs, you start to lose yourself in the process.

I forgot how I write; what my voice was.

What I did write didn’t relate to you, my audience.

Worse, it felt as though all the writing around me was as fresh as tuna in a can.

But, I didn’t want to be generic tuna from a can. I want to be sashimi on ice.

So I hit the books, I found real content creators, publishers and writers who spoke with authenticity.

With that, I’ve been working on my creative muscle— to write better.

In hopes that writing inspiring, empathetic and useful narratives will help me and you create value in our world.

✌️ After being laid off in September '22, (the company declared bankruptcy (rip)), I ventured out, determined to fulfill my purpose. Seeing that I had always worked for others' success, I wanted to change the narrative up a bit and invest that energy into my dreams too. It was and still is a learning process with ups and downs in accounting, operations, IT, product design, and more. Marketing and sales? 🤔 Well, I know a thing or two about that! Yet, the journey can sometimes feel more scrambled than a Sunday brunch! 🍳

Still, I took the leap 🐇 , working 12+ hour days, making friends with the office walls, haha. 💪

After about 6 months of development, I started feeling lonely. No more Monday morning meetings or casual brainstorming sessions. I craved connection and collaboration. But after all that distance, I felt awkward stepping out into the world. 🫣

That's when I realized the power of like-minded communities. I started joining networking events and online groups, searching for people who shared my interests in business, marketing, and technology. And let me tell you, the learning possibilities were endless. Sharing ideas and experiences also built trust within our groups and I made real friends. 💙

I went from loner to being an active member of communities such as WordPress, Hubspot, and YES MTL. But something is still missing. You.
