The JOAT International Street Dance Festival is returning September 1 to 7, bringing a full week of street dance and hip hop culture to the Quartier des spectacles.

Known as the largest street dance festival in the Americas, JOAT draws more than 50,000 festivalgoers and brings together dancers from around the world for battles, performances, workshops and more.

You can catch Breaking, Hip Hop, Kidz and Popping battles throughout the week, plus introductory dance workshops, master classes, concerts, exhibitions, conferences and beatmaking sessions. 🎶

Country music legend Dolly Parton has died at the age of 80. ❤️

The singer, songwriter, actress and philanthropist died on today, Tuesday, August 25, her family confirmed in a statement.

Over a career spanning nearly six decades, Parton became one of the most recognizable figures in music, giving the world songs including “Jolene,” “Coat of Many Colors,” “9 to 5” and “I Will Always Love You.” Her music sold more than 100 million records worldwide.

Her impact extended far beyond music. Through her Imagination Library, Parton helped provide free books to children, while her philanthropy supported education, disaster relief and medical research.

An unforgettable voice, songwriter and cultural icon whose legacy will live on for generations. ❤️

WestJet just got a whole lot comfier 👀✈️

is updating aircraft that previously had all-economy cabins, bringing them in line with the airline’s newer cabin design and layout.

The refreshed aircraft feature a more consistent Economy cabin with 30 inches of seat pitch, while reconfigured narrow-body planes also offer a Premium cabin with more legroom, adjustable recline, device holders and power access.

WestJet says updates to its remaining all-economy aircraft are underway and expected to wrap up by early September, while work to standardize its densified Economy cabins will continue through the end of 2026.

Grab your skates because a free outdoor roller disco is coming to downtown Montreal 🛼🪩

Boogie Night: Back to the Roller Disco Era is kicking off the Tranquille à roulettes season at Esplanade Tranquille on September 11 with four hours of skating, music and disco vibes.

Hosted by Skate with Marly, the launch party will feature a special student performance and DJ Ariel Roberge spinning throughout the night. 🎶

Don’t have skates? Roller skate rentals will be available on-site, while admission to the skating area is completely free.

And the fun doesn’t end after opening night! The outdoor roller disco season runs through October 25, with Friday night disco and funk DJ parties plus free beginner workshops throughout the season.

The exhibition showcases impactful images documenting major events, people and issues from across the globe, giving visitors a chance to experience some of the year’s most compelling visual journalism in one place.

And if you’re looking for a later date night idea, the exhibition stays open until midnight Thursday through Saturday. 👀

Vans Warped Tour is officially heading north of the border, and Montreal is getting two full days of it 🤘🎸

On August 21 and 22, Vans Warped Tour is taking over Parc Jean-Drapeau with more than 100 artists spanning pop punk, rock, emo, alternative, hip-hop, ska and more.

The lineup includes Simple Plan, Bowling For Soup, Taking Back Sunday, Yellowcard, Mayday Parade, Jutes, LØLØ, Despised Icon and tons more. Plus, 18 Quebec bands are part of this year’s lineup, giving plenty of local talent a spot on the Warped Tour stages. ⚜️🎶

And in true Warped Tour fashion, you won’t know exactly when your favourites are playing until you arrive! Fans can head to the giant inflatable schedule after entering the festival to find out the day’s set times. 👀

Beyond the music, expect appearances from skateboarders and action-sports athletes throughout the weekend. 🛹

There’s also a way to get into the festival faster: bring three unexpired, non-dented, non-glass canned food items to the La Tablée des Chefs charity kiosk near the entrance for access to faster entry.

Montreal’s music scene is taking over the city for five days this September 🎶✨

POP Montréal is celebrating its 25th anniversary from September 23 to 27, bringing concerts, art, film, markets and more to over 50 venues across the city, with much of the action happening in Mile End and the Plateau.

This year’s lineup includes Luna, Uffie, Chad VanGaalen, Infinity Song, A Winged Victory for the Sullen, High Vis and plenty more, ranging from emerging artists to established international acts. 🎤

There are also some special anniversary events planned, including the return of Divan Orange for multi-night showcases and a Secret City 20th anniversary reunion featuring Klô Pelgag, Brad Barr and Basia Bulat.

Beyond the concerts, you can check out independent art exhibitions with Art POP, music-focused screenings at Film POP, free panels and workshops through the POP Symposium, the Puces POP craft market and family-friendly Kids POP programming.
