✔ An experimental drug could protect the kidneys and heart from the effects of high blood pressure

👉 A recent study published in Communications Biology examined a mechanism that is often underestimated in hypertension-related damage: chronic inflammation.

Researchers studied Cmpd17b, an experimental compound targeting formyl peptide receptors (FPRs), which are involved in activating inflammatory responses.

The results suggest that this treatment could help repair damage to blood vessels and the kidneys caused by chronic high blood pressure and inflammation. A promising avenue that could open new possibilities for better protecting organs affected by hypertension.

✔ Un mĂ©dicament expĂ©rimental pourrait protĂ©ger les reins et le cƓur contre les effets de l’hypertension

👉 Une Ă©tude rĂ©cente publiĂ©e dans Communications Biology s’est intĂ©ressĂ©e Ă  un mĂ©canisme souvent sous-estimĂ© dans les dommages liĂ©s Ă  l’hypertension : l’inflammation chronique.

Les chercheurs ont Ă©tudiĂ© le Cmpd17b, un composĂ© expĂ©rimental ciblant les rĂ©cepteurs des formylpeptides (FPR), impliquĂ©s dans l’activation des rĂ©ponses inflammatoires.

Les rĂ©sultats suggĂšrent que ce traitement pourrait contribuer Ă  rĂ©parer les dommages causĂ©s aux vaisseaux sanguins et aux reins par l’hypertension et l’inflammation chroniques. Une piste prometteuse qui pourrait ouvrir de nouvelles avenues pour mieux protĂ©ger les organes affectĂ©s par l’hypertension.

✔ Could hormone therapy later in life be associated with a lower risk of dementia?

👉 According to a study published on August 12, 2026, in Neurology¼, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology, the use of hormone therapy later in life was associated with a lower risk of developing dementia.

These findings raise new questions about the potential role hormones may play in brain aging and the prevention of cognitive decline. However, this is an association observed in the study, not evidence that hormone therapy prevents dementia. Further research will be needed to better understand this relationship.

👉 Selon une Ă©tude publiĂ©e le 12 aoĂ»t 2026 dans NeurologyÂź, la r***e mĂ©dicale de l’American Academy of Neurology, le recours Ă  une hormonothĂ©rapie Ă  un Ăąge avancĂ© serait associĂ© Ă  un risque moindre de dĂ©velopper une dĂ©mence.

Ces rĂ©sultats soulĂšvent de nouvelles questions sur le rĂŽle que pourraient jouer les hormones dans le vieillissement cĂ©rĂ©bral et la prĂ©vention du dĂ©clin cognitif. Il s’agit toutefois d’une association observĂ©e dans l’étude, et non d’une preuve que l’hormonothĂ©rapie prĂ©vient la dĂ©mence. D’autres recherches seront nĂ©cessaires pour mieux comprendre cette relation.
