VACATION POST
Taking a short break last week & this week — back to posting daily the week of April 20.
Before I go quiet though, here are five things happening in AI right now that are worth paying attention to:
The "One-Person Unicorn" idea is gaining real traction. Small teams using AI agents are hitting productivity numbers that used to require whole departments. Lean and powerful is becoming the new competitive advantage.
Multimodal AI is now the standard. The new generation of AI doesn't just read text — it processes video, audio, and sensor data at the same time. Things that weren't possible a year ago are becoming routine.
AI is getting better at checking its own work. New models include internal feedback loops that verify their outputs before presenting them. The reliability gap that used to make people nervous about AI is closing fast.
The EU AI Act just went from theory to enforcement. Companies are being audited right now. If your business touches Europe in any way, governance planning is no longer optional.
And the next big challenge is AgentOps — managing multiple AI agents working together across a business. The companies figuring this out early are going to have a serious edge.
A lot moving. Good things to think about while I'm away. See you the week of April 20 👋
