What I like about it is that it focuses less on trends and more on the fundamentals of communication, structure, typography, and the details that shape how a design is experienced.

When I read The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by , I knew it was going to be about organizing space, but I soon found out it had a lot more to do with the concept of decluttering your life. After reading it, I started to approach design in a different way.

I noticed that not everything needs to be kept and not everything needs to be added.

The strength of a concept often comes from what you remove, not what you add. When you strip things back, the message becomes clearer, stronger, and more intentional.

Quand j’ai lu The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up de Marie Kondo, je pensais que ça parlerait surtout d’organisation d’espace, mais j’ai vite réalisé que ça allait bien plus loin, ça touche vraiment au fait de désencombrer sa vie. Après l’avoir lu, j’ai commencé à voir le design autrement.

Je me suis rendu compte que tout n’a pas besoin d’être gardé, et que tout n’a pas besoin d’être ajouté.
La force d’un concept vient souvent de ce qu’on enlève, pas de ce qu’on ajoute. Quand on épure, le message devient plus clair, plus fort et plus intentionnel.

Est-ce que vous avez lu son livre? Est-ce que vous en avez retenu quelque chose que vous appliquez aujourd’hui dans votre travail ou dans votre quotidien?

Spring is in the air right now! With that, there’s something about spring that brings the urge to reset, refresh and clear the clutter.

Working on the Spring Cleaning newsletter had us thinking about that a lot. Not just the cleaning part, but the resting after all the work.

Good design, much like a good clean, is about how everything functions after. Would you agree?

Le printemps tarde à s’installer! Et avec lui, cette envie de repartir à neuf : désencombrer, rafraîchir, remettre de l’ordre.

En travaillant sur l’infolettre de nettoyage printanier avec O-Cedar, on s’est beaucoup arrêté à ça. Pas seulement au geste de nettoyer, mais à ce qui vient après, le moment où tout retombe, où l’espace respire.

Un bon design, comme un bon ménage, ne s’arrête pas au processus. Il se révèle dans la façon dont tout fonctionne une fois que c’est fait. Vous en pensez quoi?

Sometimes, the best perspective comes from stepping back. Looking at things from a distance helps you see what really matters, what to keep, what to refine, what to let go.

That’s exactly what we did with the Habilitas Foundation on their Legacy Brochure. It’s about helping people understand how they can give back in a lasting way, without it feeling heavy or overwhelming.

The brochure features braille on select sections, a small but meaningful step to make the piece more accessible and inclusive.

Parfois, la meilleure perspective vient du fait de prendre du recul. Observer les choses à distance permet de voir ce qui compte vraiment,
ce qu’il faut garder, ajuster, ou laisser aller.

C’est exactement ce qu’on a fait avec la Fondation Habilitas pour leur brochure Héritage. L’objectif, c’était d’aider les gens à comprendre comment ils peuvent redonner de façon durable, sans que ça paraisse lourd ou intimidant.

La brochure intègre du braille dans certaines sections, un petit détail, mais qui fait une vraie différence pour rendre le tout plus accessible et inclusif.

Organizations don’t need to be loud to be impactful. Working on a project with for an organization like Oceanites is a reminder that design is more than just aesthetics, it’s about supporting a mission.
