Sometimes the piece you love isn’t the piece that works best for you.

This is why understanding your measurements matters so much.

A few things I look at when deciding if a garment is going to work:

✨ Where does the volume sit?
✨ Does the silhouette create balance with your proportions?
✨ Is the garment adding visual weight where you want it?
✨ Does the shape of the piece work with your natural lines?

It can be a beautiful top, dress, or jacket and still not give you the result you were hoping for.

And that doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with your body. It means the garment isn’t working with your shape.

Once you understand this, you can shop with so much more confidence because you know what to look for.

This is something we’ll go much deeper into at my next Style Workshop on September 26, where we’ll work on understanding your silhouette and how to choose pieces that actually work for you.
