So when God says, "My ways/thoughts are not your thoughts, they are higher than yours," look at the context. God is speaking about His mercy.

His mercy is not ours. What we think of mercy is not what God thinks of mercy. Our mercy is limited, short-lived, and preferential. God's mercy is higher than the heavens, unlimited, eternal, and extended to all. For us, judgment triumphs over mercy. But with God, mercy triumphs over judgment.

Next time you quote the verse, think of God's mercy is more glorious than ours. Show us Your mercy Lord!
