Connor asked me a question that every entrepreneur should consider:

"Why do so many businesses fail?"

My answer?

Most people assume it's because they run out of money.

While cash flow is important, I believe the real reason is often a lack of planning, strategy, and direction.

Too many business owners spend their time reacting instead of leading.

They chase opportunities, put out fires, and stay busy, but never create a clear path forward.

Success doesn't happen by accident.

It comes from making intentional decisions, staying focused on your priorities, and having a plan that guides your actions.

A business without a strategy is simply hoping for the best.

Connor asked me:

"What do you need to be successful as a business owner?"

My answer was simple:

A don't-give-up mentality.

Because entrepreneurship isn't always easy.

There will be days when things don't go as planned. Deals fall through. Clients say no. Projects get delayed. Mistakes happen.

The difference isn't avoiding the setbacks.

The difference is what you do next.

You get beat down.

You get back up.

You learn the lesson.

And you keep moving forward.

Success isn't about never failing. It's about refusing to let failure be the end of the story.

Every entrepreneur I know who has built something meaningful has faced challenges. The ones who succeed are the ones who keep going when others would quit.

Many business owners spend their days reacting to whatever is in front of them. Emails. Problems. Opportunities. Requests.

Before long, they're busy, exhausted, and wondering why they're not making the progress they hoped for.

They're the ones that are clear on where they're going, what matters most, and what they need to say no to.
