You’re getting inquiries… so why aren’t you fully booked for Spring yet?

This is one of the most common things we see. There’s interest. Messages are coming in. Maybe even a few calls. But your schedule still has gaps.

It’s usually not a demand issue — it’s a conversion issue.

Here are few, easy-fix things that can cost you jobs:

🔵 Slow response times (people move on fast)
🔵 No clear next step on your website
🔵 Not enough recent proof (photos, reviews, results)
🔵 Service pages that are vague or hard to skim
🔵 No follow-up after that first inquiry

Most customers are reaching out to multiple companies at once. The one who responds clearly, quickly, and confidently is usually the one who gets the job.

You don’t necessarily need more leads, you just need to build better systems to convert the ones you already have.

Happy Spring!

This is the point in the year where people start thinking ahead to projects and services they’ll need over the next few months.

They’re not always reaching out right away, but they are paying attention. Looking at businesses, checking who’s active, and getting a sense of who they might contact when they’re ready.

A lot of those decisions are influenced early, based on what people see online. Recent content, clear positioning, and a business that looks current all play a role in that first impression.

If your marketing only gets attention when you need leads, you can miss that earlier window where people are quietly narrowing down their options.

Staying visible and up to date doesn’t require anything complicated, just consistent, clear touchpoints that reflect the work you’re already doing.

Spring service calls are closer than most businesses think.

Before things get busy, March is the perfect time to tighten up a few things online so you’re ready when homeowners start searching.

Here are 5 things worth fixing before the rush:

🔹 Your Google Business Profile — updated services, fresh photos, and reply to recent reviews
🔹 Your service pages — clear, specific pages for what you actually want booked
🔹 Your contact paths — forms, phone buttons, and mobile usability
🔹 Your lead response time — the faster you respond, the more jobs you win

Spring doesn’t start when the weather warms up, it starts when homeowners begin searching online.

And that usually begins weeks earlier than people expect!

Meet the Team 👋

It’s been a little while since we’ve done proper introductions — and with some new faces joining us over the past year, it felt like the right time to re-introduce the people behind North Shore Digital.

We’re starting with our founder and CEO, Andrew.

Andrew is a digital marketing expert with over 15 years of experience helping businesses grow through smart, strategic digital ex*****on. Before founding North Shore Digital, he taught Digital Marketing, SEO, SEM Fundamentals, and Google Analytics at BrainStation — a global leader in digital skills training — and previously wrote and researched three digital marketing courses for the University of British Columbia.

His background spans education, technology, events, and digital media, giving him a well-rounded perspective on how businesses scale in today’s landscape.

Originally from the UK, Andrew has lived and worked in Japan, Germany, Switzerland, and Korea before settling in Canada. He holds a B.A. in German Studies and a Master of Science in IT, Management & Organizational Change from Lancaster University Management School, one of the UK’s leading business schools.

Andrew’s Predictive Index profile is the Altruist— and that tracks. He’s passionate about building a fair, transparent agency that drives excellent results for clients, colleagues, and partners alike.

Outside of work, Andrew is a proud husband and father of three daughters, runs a North Van drop-in football group with 200+ members, and has been DJing and producing a podcast mix series since 2005.

Search is evolving. In 2026, getting found by your ideal client isn’t just about rankings.

AI-generated summaries are shaping buying decisions before users ever click a website. Traditional traffic patterns are shifting. Brand mentions and structured content matter more than ever.

That’s why AI Visibility Optimization is now integrated into our full marketing programs.

We’re structuring content for AI retrieval, enhancing technical crawlability, building authoritative signals, and monitoring AI visibility performance over time.

The goal is simple: make sure your business shows up wherever your customers are searching.

If you have questions about how this applies to your strategy, connect with your account manager at your next check-in!

We've got a quick question for business owners:

If referrals slowed down tomorrow…would your marketing still bring in work?

Referrals are powerful — but they can be unpredictable. The most stable businesses pair word-of-mouth with consistent online visibility so they’re not relying on one source alone.

That usually starts with:

- A website that clearly explains what you do
- Showing up in search when people are actively looking
- Staying visible enough online that people remember you

You don’t need to be everywhere, you just need a system that works even when referrals are quiet.

One on-page SEO tweak you can do this week 👇

If your page title doesn’t match what someone is actually searching for, Google — and your potential customer — will scroll right past it.

Here’s the fix:

Pick a few important pages on your site (your homepage or a core service page is perfect).

Then rewrite the page title to clearly answer three things:

• What you do
• Where you do it
• Who it’s for

For example:

❌ Home
❌ Services | Company Name
✅ Landscaping Services in North Vancouver | Company Name

Why this matters:

Page titles are one of the strongest on-page SEO signals, and they play a big role in whether someone clicks on your site or keeps scrolling.

You don’t need to overhaul your entire website. Do a few pages. Or just one. That’s it.

Small, intentional changes add up!

The calendar is fresh, January is almost behind us, and here’s something we’ll say plainly:

Good marketing in January is… kind of boring.

And that’s not a bad thing.

This is the month for tightening systems, showing up consistently, and following up on the interest you already worked hard to earn — not panicking because things feel quieter than you hoped.

No need for flashy pivots. No dramatic resets. Instead, focus on steady, thoughtful work that compounds over time.

It may not feel exciting right now, but it’s exactly what sets the foundation for a stronger year ahead.

Thanks for being here. We’re glad you stuck around while the real work gets done.

Marketing is getting louder — and smarter.

Recent home services research shows a few clear shifts we’re already seeing with our clients:

- Businesses are investing more in marketing to show up in more places online
- Search is still the biggest driver of leads
- Video and social are playing a bigger role before someone ever picks up the phone
- Speed matters more than ever once a lead comes in

Here’s the part that really stood out to us 👇

Even strong marketing can fall flat if leads aren’t followed up quickly and consistently.

In other words:

Getting found is still essential — but what happens after the inquiry matters just as much.

That’s why we think of marketing as a system, not just a set of tactics. Visibility, trust-building, and clear next steps all have to work together.

The tools are changing. Buyer behaviour is changing.

But the goal hasn’t: make it easy for the right people to find you — and even easier for them to choose you.
