Calling all chocolate lovers. 🍫👀

The is happening October 24, bringing more than 30 Canadian bean-to-bar chocolate makers and chocolatiers together for one seriously sweet day.

From 10 AM to 5 PM, you can discover and sample chocolate from makers like Hummingbird Chocolate, SOMA Chocolatemaker, Kasama Chocolate, DesBarres Chocolate and Alicja Confections.

There will also be presentations throughout the day, with most included in admission, plus ticketed experiences like guided chocolate tastings and a chocolate and cheese pairing seminar. 🍫🧀

And if you want to get there early, the first 25 people in line will score a FREE goodie bag.

Think you could make a room full of strangers laugh? 🎤😂

Absolute Comedy is hosting a six-week Stand-Up Comedy Class starting October 13, giving everyone from complete beginners to semi-pro comics a chance to work on their material and get behind the mic.

Led by veteran comedian and touring headliner Pierre Brault, the course covers joke writing, comedic timing, delivery and stage presence while helping you develop your own seven-minute stand-up set.

And you won’t just be practising in class. The course wraps up with a live showcase at Absolute Comedy, where you’ll perform your set in front of an actual audience. 👀🎭

Think you know your cocktails? This Halifax speakeasy is putting your taste buds to the test. 🍸🕵️

Drink Detective is happening at Noble, the hidden speakeasy underneath The Middle Spoon, on October 3 and 24.

Throughout the night, you’ll taste eight sample-sized mystery cocktails and use your phone to guess the spirits, citrus and liqueurs hiding in each glass. Correct guesses earn points, with a live leaderboard keeping track of who actually knows their cocktails and who’s just confidently guessing. 👀

Each drink is revealed after the round, and you definitely don’t need to be a cocktail expert to play.

The Great Old Fashioned Workshop is happening at Brix Experience Centre on October 2, taking you beyond simply ordering the classic cocktail at the bar.

Over two hours, you’ll dive into the history of the Old Fashioned while learning about the ingredients and techniques that go into making one properly. Then, you’ll get to put those skills to the test yourself. 🍊🥃

A Halloween circus is bringing aerial stunts, acrobatics and twisted comedy to Ottawa. 🎪👻

Cirque A La Carte: Circus of Shadows is taking over LabO Theatre on October 2 and 3 for three performances filled with aerial arts, bizarre characters, magical mischief and plenty of Halloween energy.

The Friday and Saturday evening performances are 18+, while Saturday afternoon is open to all ages and includes a Halloween costume parade where audience members can join in. 🎃✨

Ottawa’s Day of the Dead Festival is celebrating 10 years this fall. 💀🌼

From October 30 to November 1, ByWard Market will come alive with three days of Mexican culture, traditions, food and art for the festival’s 10th anniversary.

Expect traditional folk dancing, live music, colourful altar displays and an artisan market filled with goods from Mexican and local vendors. You can also learn more about the traditions behind Día de los Mu***os through food tastings and history workshops featuring favourites like Pan de Mu**to and tamales. 🇲🇽✨

The weekend will also include community processions and cultural performances, plus a ticketed after-party on Halloween night.

Ottawa’s cutest Halloween event might just be this dog costume parade. 🐶🎃

Hintonburg Howl-O-Ween is taking over Parkdale Park and Parkdale Market on October 17 for an afternoon dedicated to pups, costumes and Halloween fun.

Dress up with your dog and join the costume parade, where judges will be handing out prizes for some of the best looks. You can also shop local vendors for treats, pet accessories and spooky finds, and stop by the photo booth for a Halloween pic with your pup. 👻🐾
