The main event went down at in Nelson, BC last week giving a rare opportunity for the best up and coming female freestyle backcountry riders to challenge themselves along side their piers in a 50% contest, 50% filming session.

We had a strong European showing too with .petrig getting a spot from the Euro qualifier, seasoned pro and who happened to take home the overall win!

Big shoutout to for bringing this to fruition, and hyped to see more of these in the future. Link in bio for the full write up and interviews from our Euro contingent.

This February, I took a leap and became my own boss, relying on contract work. It wasn’t easy—believing in yourself takes guts. With regular paychecks gone, we made sacrifices, like cutting Sofia’s summer programs, and it’s an understatement when I say things got really tight. I emphasized to Sofia that self-belief can change the trajectory of your life. To stay motivated in February, we created vision boards together.

Sofia’s goals? Qualify for the 2025 Legendary Baker Banked Slalom, podium at Neil Edgeworth & WCTP, and score Taylor Swift tickets. Mine? Continue to work with always but also collaborate with .kimura on .

Sofia missed the LBS Baker qualifiers by one spot but turned it into motivation—winning first at Neil Edgeworth and securing third at the . In August, she was invited to the ! When I told her about the LBS news months after she narrowly missed out, I reminded her that believing in your goals can make them a reality, even if it takes time. Vision board goals coming true—except for tickets (those are like $6K!).

Here’s the kicker: Days after her LBS invite, an old friend offered me two T.Swift tickets at face value…in Toronto! I jumped at the chance, secretly stressing about flight costs. When I shared how .towers_ vision board came true with Jess, emphasizing goal-setting and the power of believing in yourself, Jess looked at me with a huge smile and said she wanted to be part of this story and buy our flights. At first, I declined her offer, but she insisted, saying, “I could pay you the money I WILL owe you, or consider this good karma.” I looked at Jess and said, “Hell yeah, I want you to be part of this story!”

So here I am, sharing that taking a leap of faith can lead to incredible opportunities. The takeaway? Dream big, pursue your goals, and trust yourself. If you’re not getting the respect you deserve, go after it. Treat others with kindness, and the universe might surprise you.

Best part? I get to say I’m now working with/for two G.O.A.T.s—one named M**o and the other Danger Pony! 🐐🐐

At Aligned Creative, I’ve recently added supporting political campaigns to my repertoire—a path I didn’t expect to take but am really happy to have delved into. When I crossed paths with Jen Ford, I was curious about what she stood for and accepted her invitation to her home. I went in ready to vet her thoroughly.

I was surprised to find that the chair of the Whistler Housing Authority was renting a small A-frame, but after five hours of conversation, I realized how close Jen is to truly understanding our issues, like housing. Her lived experience aligns with the challenges so many of us face. It was then I knew we’d work well together. Jen answered all my questions—about healthcare, education, regional transportation, UNDRIP, and environmental issues like the LNG project in Squamish—with such passion. I love strong, fiery women who get genuinely worked up when explaining what’s wrong with the world and how we can fix it. It’s so relatable.

Her story resonated with me. She earned a degree in Political Science, moved to Whistler “for a year,” and stayed. She got married, joined Whistler Ski Patrol, had a child, and, like many of us, realized that motherhood changes things. That’s when she traded in her skis for her political roots, serving on Whistler Council since 2014, chairing the Whistler Housing Authority, chairing the SLRD, and serving as past president of the UBCM—the list goes on. What Jen has been able to accomplish since becoming a mom in 2013 is inspiring.

I encourage each of you to reach out to the candidates in our riding, ask the hard questions, attend the All Candidates meetings, and then decide who you will vote for. This person will represent West Vancouver–Sea to Sky as our MLA and take our local issues to Victoria. Your chance to make a difference in your community is now. And who knows, you just might end up at their house, deep in conversation for five hours like I did.

Come meet Jen on Oct 8th at Alpine Cafe. There are a couple more All Candidates Meetings coming up: one in Squamish on Oct 7th, and in Pemberton at the Community Centre on Oct 9th.

Not sure if you noticed, but at every entrance and exit of the Pemberton barn on Truth and Reconciliation Day, cedar boughs were placed on the ground. This is a Líl̓wat and Indigenous tradition rooted in cultural and spiritual significance, meant to clear bad thoughts and negative energy as you enter a space. Cedar is considered a sacred plant with cleansing and protective properties.

My daughter Sofia and I gathered healthy cedar boughs for the event with Dr. Lorna Wanósts’a7 Williams, being mindful to harvest respectfully, as is common in Indigenous practices. We took only what was needed and with the intention of giving back. A few years ago, my friend Gélpcal taught me that when you take from the forest, you must return it, always honoring reciprocity with nature. You leave your bad thoughts behind and clear your mind. Yesterday, I returned the cedar boughs to the forest, honouring that practice and expressing gratitude to nature for providing such a beautiful day to reflect on the difficult and important topics shared during Lorna’s talk.

Hard to put into words about today. First and foremost, my deepest gratitude to Dr. Lorna Wanósts’a7 Williams for your powerful presence, wisdom, and leadership. Your guidance continues to light the path toward reconciliation and healing in ways that touch us all. We are so blessed to have you.

Special thank you to Há7ya for your words and prayer, and for calling the children home. Again thanks to Há7ya, Thomas Williams and Gunner Williams, Jason Wallace, Chief Dean M Nelson, and our incredible emcee Chris Thomas Wells and all the other drummers who got up and moved to the rhythm of the beat.

Thank you to Kyle Adolf, Mavis, Graham Turner, and the staff at Tsi’pun for the yummy soup and bannock, coffee, and tea. Hire this team for your next event!

Thank you so much, Rich Doucet, for your professionalism and care in making sure all the sound worked, for renting the mics and setting them up for Lorna and Há7ya, and for getting half of the Spiritual Warriors (Leroy and Daisy Joe, Q, Rich) together to close out the barn with your music. You guys rock!!

Thank you to the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre in Whistler for putting together the budget for Shane Roy to film the event.

Thank you to Kelly Cosgrove at Lens & Listings for coming to shoot the event and for these incredible photos. Huge thanks to my mom for the support. Thank you to Darin Towers for helping me stay on top of everything.

Thank you to the staff at Pemberton’s Community Centre for all your help, especially Christine Burns and Cheryl. Most of all, thank you to Elizabeth Tracy at the Village of Pemberton. When I first approached you over a year ago to make this happen, you immediately jumped in and said this is exactly what the VOP wants to be doing for truth and reconciliation. Thank you for letting me bounce ideas off you, share visions, and helping take them to the next level to make them a reality. Thank you to the SLRD - Squamish-Lillooet Regional District for the support.

Thank you to Levi Nelson for sharing his art on the print/card—if you didn’t get an art card print, message me and I’ll get one to you.

Thank you all so much for coming, especially all of you who traveled from all over the St̓át̓y̓emc to be here.

kukwstum̓ckál̓ap to Líl̓wat Chief and Council for giving me the green light to make this event happen. I'm forever grateful.

Thank you, everyone!
