Vincent Chiu is an outstanding member of the Richmond Community. Dedicated to his local residency, he served as part of the City of Richmond’s Green Ambassadors for 3 years, ran the local environmental club of Hugh Boyd Secondary in his grade 10 school year, led as the captain of Green Friends, a youth leadership team, from 2014 to 2015 and is currently a member of the City Centre Community Associ
ations Special Events Board. Vincent has received special recognition from the Board of Education of the Richmond School District for his service as a tri-subcommittee chair of 2013’s Richmond Student Leadership Council and the U-Roc award for leadership from the City of Richmond. As an alumni of the Metro Vancouver Sustainability Toolbox, Vincent understands the importance of intergovernmental body collaboration and has participated and facilitated discussions as an orchestrator of larger scale conferences such as the Richmond Student Leadership Conference of 2013 and the Metro Vancouver Youth4Action Leadership Summit. From collaborating with scientists to facilitate tours for high schools students of non-partisan research institutions or enterprises, Vincent has developed a respect for scientists and will work to guarantee the unimpeded freedom of speech of scientists once in parliament. He often reads from various subjects such as behavioral economics, urban design, entrepreneurship and community building to communicate and work with a diverse range of professionals. Self-taught in management and marketing, he delivered a well-regarded workshop on eco-marketing at the 2015’s Richmond Earth Day Youth Summit. Raised in an accepting multicultural society and full of energy, he hopes to use his unique skills to serve Canada for the years to come. A strong believer of freedom, respect and diversity, Vincent Chiu will work towards creating a sustainable Canada that Canadians for generations to come can be proud of.
