I had so much fun putting these little welcome bags together for our girls weekend with the help of Holdfast Ink 🩵

Everyone got a tote bag and coaster from their home province. Ellie got New Brunswick because Holdfast Ink hasn’t made it to Alberta yet, and Fredericton is her second home anyway!

Heidi also added one of their new whale bandanas to each bag. I’ve been working with Holdfast Ink on the launch and will have more to share about that project soon!

A very fitting addition to our New Brunswick Day long weekend on the water. 🌊🌲☀️

A little portfolio feature for Kanna Solutions. 💻

Back in December 2025, I worked with Rick from Olds, Alberta as he launched his consulting business, Kanna Solutions. I helped with the branding, website, social media setup, business cards, and other brand assets to help establish a polished presence from the start.

For the website, we kept things clean, clear, and easy to navigate. The goal was to create a strong first impression and make it easy for people to understand the business and the services.

I have space for one website project in September, so if you’ve been thinking about getting your business online or refreshing what you already have, let’s chat! 💬🫶🏻

June was a full month.

Work has been picking up, and I’m incredibly grateful for that. At the same time, there was a lot happening outside of HR Media too.

One thing I really value is getting to know my clients beyond the projects we’re working on together. Knowing what’s going on in each other’s lives helps us collaborate better, be a little more flexible, and give each other grace when life gets busy.

Here are a few moments from my June outside of client meetings, content calendars, and marketing. ❤️

Instagram is just full of surprises lately! (Not really because tells us everything) BUT STILL, big changes are here!

1. You can now add a caption to each slide. This is a great feature for storytelling and to give context to each slide.

*I type this with frustrated thumbs because this feature is still quite glitchy and I have lost my custom captions 5 times while trying to write this post….

2. This is a bad example because you probably wouldn’t reorder a carousel with ordered text… but this is a game changer for photo dumps!

Especially given that you can add up to 20 slides in an Instagram carousel, it was a lot of pressure to have the order perfect the first time! Now you can edit the order after posting.

3.Now where was this feature in 2019 when I was in my blogger era and your grid was EVERYTHING…..

You can now reorder your grid by holding on a post and then clicking “reorder grid”. You can also find this if you go to your profile and click the “edit profile” button. Then press and hold on your post and drag it to where you want it!

Like I said… there’s lots going on right now with Instagram but I thought I would start with my top 3 mew features!

Every business has different marketing needs.

For some, it’s content creation. For others, it’s a website refresh, social media support, stronger branding, or a clearer strategy.

That’s why I don’t offer one-size-fits-all solutions. I work with clients to identify what’s holding them back, prioritize what matters most, and create a plan that makes sense for their business.

Before we built the website, we backed up and built a (mini) brand.

A lot of small businesses come to me ready for a website or social media presence with an AI-generated logo or a quick visual direction they pulled together themselves.

And honestly, I get it. I’m a small business owner too!

When you are starting something new, you are trying to make decisions quickly, keep costs manageable, and get your idea out into the world. I am not here to judge how you do that, or to tell every client they need to invest in a full brand identity before they are ready.

But I do think we can usually build something stronger.

For Kanna Solutions, that meant taking the story, experience, and care behind the business and creating a more custom visual identity to build from: a logo, logo variations, colours, typography, and a mini brand kit.

Nothing overcomplicated.

Just a more polished foundation for the website, social media, and whatever comes next.
