I’ve been working on a project with a local family to turn their kids’ hand-drawn graphic novel into a real, printed book and honestly, it’s been one of those projects that reminds me why I love what I do.

These aren’t just drawings.

They’re ideas, stories, inside jokes, hours of effort… and a whole lot of imagination.

And instead of letting it sit in a notebook somewhere, their parents are saying:

“Let’s make this real.”

That kind of support matters more than people realize.

The best part? This all started from their YouTube channel, where they’ve been consistently creating and sharing their work. It’s already gaining traction, and it’s so cool to see that momentum carry into something tangible like a book.

If you want to check out the graphic novel, here’s the link👉 https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0GZB5B9NZ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&psc=1

Creativity goes a lot further when someone’s in your corner. Sometimes all it takes is that support to turn an idea into something real ✨

Cowichan just has a way of pulling you in.

You come for the slower pace…
and stay because somehow you always run into someone you know at the grocery store and your weekend plans now include “just popping into Duncan.”

Designing for businesses in Cowichan means understanding this life ~ the pace, the people, and yes… the Malahat.

If you know, you know.

If your website was an employee… would you keep it on the team?

Your website should be working for your business 24/7.

That means helping people quickly understand what you offer, guiding them to the next step, and making it easy to reach you.

When a site feels confusing or outdated, visitors don’t stick around to figure it out ~ they move on.

Good design isn’t just about how a website looks. It’s about how well it works.

Save this if a website refresh is on your to-do list.

Mercury might be in retrograde…
but your website doesn’t need to be glitching with it.

A few things small business owners forget to check:
– Are your files backed up?
– Is your hosting current?
– Are your plugins updated?
– Do you even know where your login info is? 👀

Tech issues usually don’t come from bad luck.

They come from things getting overlooked.

A solid website isn’t just about design ~ it’s about maintenance.

Save this as your sign to check your backend today.

Small business owner. Designer. Mom. Island human.

I believe good design should feel clear, intentional, and built to support real businesses ~ not just look nice on a screen.

If you’re building something and want it to feel aligned, strategic, and true to you, let’s talk.

Easthom Electric's new website is officially live ⚡

The goal?
✔ Clear services

For small businesses, your website should work as hard as you do. It should build trust, answer questions, and make it easy for customers to reach you.

If your current site isn’t doing that, it might be time for an upgrade.

Ride Industries - Motocross Graphics had a strong brand and great products—but their website was built for how the internet worked years ago.

Together, we refreshed their site with clearer navigation, updated visuals, and a smoother overall experience.

This kind of project is a great reminder that you don’t always need a full rebuild—sometimes a thoughtful refresh makes all the difference.

New year. Fresh ideas. Thoughtful design.

Grateful for the projects, collaborations, and creative trust this past year. Looking forward to building brands, visuals, and digital spaces that feel intentional and well-crafted in the year ahead.

Here’s to clarity, creativity, and good design in 2026!

So Nano Banana is pretty darn great for product shots.
For these motos, I used a mix of ChatGPT , Nanobanana, and Adobe Photoshop

Still a few quirks with text, especially when the lettering is part of the original graphics and needs to stay exactly the same. That’s where Photoshop comes in handy.

If you're experimenting with AI for product mockups, here are some other platforms worth checking out (save for later):

Shopify Mockups – Solid output, but the UX to get there… could use some finesse.

Visionshop (or Vispunk) – Strong realism and great with plastics/metals. Struggles when you need perfect alignment or tiny brand details.

Khroma Studio – Clean interface, quick renders, but tends to “over-stylize” unless you rein it in.

Mockup Studio AI – Good for simple objects and packaging. Not my first choice for anything complex or curved like motos.

Looka Mockups – Very fast and beginner-friendly. The downside? You don’t get much control over lighting.

Fable.ai – More of a creative playground. Amazing for conceptual visuals; not as great if you need pin-sharp product accuracy.

Krea – Wildly creative prompts, fun for ideation. For actual client-ready mockups… hit or miss.

Adobe Firefly – Getting better, especially with texture retention. Still has a habit of “helpfully” changing things you didn’t ask it to.

If you’ve tried any others, drop them below. I’m always hunting for tools that save time without messing with brand details.
