Founded by former bubble tea baristas My and Meli, Strawmates provides you with the ideal constructible metal straw design suitable for your favourite drinks.
Made of food grade stainless steel, the two-part metal straw design comes with a soft silicone tip for sensitive teeth, and is designed to easily poke through bubble tea cups with its angled bottom. Each purchase comes with a stylish case that you can attach to your bag, along with a micro fibre cloth and a straw cleaning brush - making it portable, convenient, and easy to use.
While working as bubble tea baristas in 2019, My and Meli came up with the idea after realizing the issues associated with plastic and paper straws. Inspired by this idea, they began to take on motivational seminars and an ecommerce course, and prepared for the long road ahead.
After months and months of researching and refining their design, their unique metal straw design was ready for the world to see. Launching their website for preorders on November 16, 2020, Strawmates has since received hundreds of orders and have joined together a community of bubble tea enthusiasts.
To My and Meli, the bubble tea experience is more than just the drink itself, and it's a complete combination of the smell, the tastes, the sounds, and the company. With the environmental impact of plastic and paper straws in mind, one of their goals is to reduce the use of plastic straws without comprising the bubble tea and smoothie experience.
