Butua Kingdom
(1450-1680)
The kingdom of Butua, also known as Guruhuswa in Shona the language of its founders, emerged from the shadows of Great Zimbabwe in the middle of the 15th century.
Founded by the Torwa dynasty Butua grew rich from its control of goldmines, large cattle herds and by conducting trade with other nations in Afrika and beyond through the lucrative Indian Ocean trade network which linked Butua markets to those as far away as Persia and China.
Butua's capital city of Khami is famous for it's distinct stone masonry which was similar to the style of Great Zimbabwe but also it's own.
At the height of it's wealth and power Butua rivaled some of the greatest powers in the region like the famous Mutapa Empire to its north. However as trade routes began to change and other nations began to grow stronger Butua's days were numbered. Around 1680 Batua was conquered by the expanding Rozvi empire, yet another Bantu Shona state on the Zimbabwe plateau.
The kingdom of Batua is yet more proof that we built a glorious independent blck civilization in Afrika!
(P.S. about 1 out of every 4 ppl taken from Afrika to N.Amerika as slaves were of Bantu origin, mainly mbundu and kikongo)

Unbelievable but true...
a major obstacle to progress from within the group itself is this kind of thinking. Knowing what we are up against is why we aren't tryong to convince the masses but instead coordiante with those that already know what's up.

The bottom line is others cannot see u as family and will never treat u as fairly as those they DO see as their own people.
This is the basis of all independence and sovereignty.

We need our own everything.
We need Black power.

26/09/2026

The only solution to these lynchings and evil white krakka devil violence/oppression in general is Black power.

Don't forget that as a Black person in a racist society u are just waiting for the dirty end of white power to reach out and touch u. We need our own everything.

Do ur part to help our ppl build for
unity, justice, prosperity, freedom and peace. It's not gonna happen any other way.

Our ancestors taught that the family unit, and not the individual, is the basic building block of society. To be Afrikan-centered in outlook is to be pro-family, and anything that hurts, destroys, breaks down or prevents the formation of Black families is viewed as anti-Afrikan. This includes conflict based gender ideologies which pit Black man/Black wmn against each other in a competition for dominance instead bringing them together to collaborate in mutual respect for their functional differences.

The Black family is a sacred fundamental institution where the future of the nation is born and molded. We must protect and promote it.

The Mutapa Empire

Out of the shadows of Great Zimbabwe the Mutapa Empire rose to power in the mid 1400's. Through control of gold mines and trade with East African Swahili states like Kilwa, and places beyond in the Indian Ocean trade network, Mutapa grew rich and powerful, dominating the modern country of Zimbabwe and parts of Mozambique.
In the early 1500's, in an attempt to control the newly discovered Indian Ocean Trade, the Portuguese attacked Kilwa and other Swahili states on the East African coast. They then directed their attention to Mutapa and the other rich Afrikan kingdoms in the interior.
Portuguese traders began to travel to Mutapa. Enticed by the nation's goldmines, the Portuguese used the ex*****on of a priest as a pretext to send 2 failed invasions against Mutapa in 1571 and 1573. As a result of their inability to take Mutapa by force the Portuguese had to pay the mwene Mutapa (king of Mutapa) annual taxes and tariffs to trade in and with his country.
The fall of the empire, however, began from within. After containing the Portuguese threat the rulers of Mutapa struggled to keep the empire together. In 1589 a rebellion by one of the conquered kingdoms destroyed important goldmines. Another rebellion the same year brought destruction to the Mutapa capital of Mount Fura. In a third rebellion in 1599 the desperate king of Mutapa appealed to the Portuguese for help. In return they were allowed to live in Mutapa and trade freely.
The Portuguese would try to use their new influence to direct Mutapa politics, supporting rivals to the throne. The internal divisions, rebellions and political intrigue were too much for the Mutapa empire to withstand. With the loss of its former kingdoms and goldmines the once mighty Mutapa was eclipsed by its neighbors like the growing Rozvi empire and the Butua kingdom. After years of invasions and internal upheaval, by 1880 the once great empire was firmly under Portuguese control along with the rest of the general area.
The long and complicated story the of Mutapa empire reminds us that Europeans did not simply walk across Afrika as conquerors and that we built a glorious independent black civilization in Afrika!

We Are One/ Afrikan Origins of the Blues

The soku/goje/riti is a one stringed violin played by the Mande/Hausa/Fula ancestors of Afrikan Americans. The soku is of particularly ancient origin. West Afrikan instruments like the goje and W. Afrikan music traditions like sliding notes, blue notes and improv playing all form the basis of the Afrikan American blues tradition. If you close your eyes and listen to the riti, this afrikan violin sounds indistinguishable in style from the music that was being played in the old rural blck american south...
The soku is an example of the diversity of the Afrikan music tradition, the cultural links between Afrikans in the diaspora/continent and the Afrikan origins of Afrikan American culture.
We are one ppl, linked by ancient traditions and ancient blood!
It is on this basis we pursue historical knowledge, cultural practice and pan-afrikan unity! Ase!
