How do you feel about classic literature? Do you love it? Hate it? Feel indifferent to it?
For this month's , get to know how the herd feels about the classics.
At the risk of stirring up a hornet's nest, here are the classics that we:
Sharon, Erin, Victoria - Pride & Prejudice
Cathy - The Handmaid's Tale
Victoria - East of Eden
Anthea - Binge

Cathy - Dracula, Frankenstein
Sharon - Mansfield Park (The only Jane Austen I havenโt read.) and the Grapes of Wrath
Erin - Anna Karenina
Anthea - Anything on my TikTok recommended list.
Victoria - A Christmas Carol (But Iโm told that in the book there is only one Marley, Bob Cratchit is not a frog, and there is no Rizzo the Ratโฆ all of which are departures from my favourite screen adaptation of the novel. There may be a few other differences, too.)
Victoria - Heart of Darkness (It was a lit class assignment and itโs problematic and I hate it.)
Erin - The Chrysalids (English class thoroughly ruined it for me)
Cathy - Pretty much EVERYTHING else we read in English class. (I loved the Chrysalids, though...)
Anthea - I don't remember, but I think it's for the best. (Well, not for you if you're reading this post.)
Sharon - Wuthering Heights. (I hate Wuthering Heights.) Also, Heart of Darkness. (I'd blocked this out until Victoria mentioned it. "The horror! The horror!" perfectly sums up my experience with this book.)
