Actors spend so much time inhabiting other people’s stories, but what interests me is the moment in between — when the performance drops and the person is simply present. This was one of those moments with David # actor

39 years photographing the Canadian Opera Company — and this is where the story sharpens.
Inside the dress rehearsal of Rigoletto. A curse is spoken. A father’s love curdles into desperation. Power, betrayal, and vengeance close in as fate tightens its grip. Final breaths, last notes, light carved from shadow—an invited audience watching as tragedy takes its course.

What an honour to photograph Frank Palmer, a true advertising legend, at the “Ch-Ch-Changes” event.
Fun full-circle moment: I first photographed Frank years ago when he won the Yahoo Big Idea Chair—during that session, he casually painted a hot dog. Because of course he did.
Decades of ideas, leadership, and influence… and still surprising the room. Exactly why he’s one of a kind. Yahoo ads AD

Last month I donated my time to take part in a Help-Portrait session — a global movement started by photographer Jeremy Cowart
in 2008, built on a simple but powerful idea: using photography to give people something they may not often receive — a beautiful portrait of themselves.
No sales. No agenda. Just time, care, and connection.
Grateful to be part of a community that believes photography can do more than document — it can uplift. The first portrait is of Adrianna Blanchard who donated her time as a makeup artist organized by and .sinclairphotography with help from

Looking back at a pretty incredible moment from 2025
The Canadian Opera Company’s Centre Stage Competition brought the house down this year — and a massive congratulations to Nikan Ingabire Kanate, who took First Place and the Audience Choice Prize.
A performance that grabbed everyone’s attention, filled the room, and stayed with you long after the final note. Just pure connection, talent, and presence on stage.
Big bravo to all the artists who stepped into the spotlight, and to the COC for continuing to support and celebrate emerging voices.
