Far from 🇨🇦 home but cooking for it, Calgary’s Connie DeSousa and John Jackson made it to a cliffhanger finish on last week’s episode of Pitmasters.
The only Canadian team in Food Network’s brand-new, no-mercy, live-fire cookery competition.
They are competing in synch, like they’ve worked for over two decades. Punishing weather, compounded challenges, sleep deprivation, hungry competitors, and a 🔥🧯judging panel of Andrew Zimmern Jess Pryles Moe Cason BBQ and Ernest Servantes ✝️ versus the working duo’s honed skill and grit.
Since that opening burn, the competition has only intensified.
Survivors are pushing through sunrise-to-sunset cooks, fire management, fatigue, and challenge-within-a-challenge twists stacked against them.
DeSousa and Jackson have weathered every episode to date, but last week ended on a cliffhanger!
New episodes Mondays on Food Network, streaming next day on HBO Max and discovery+. Calgarians have been gathering charbar to watch their 🤠 hometown team battle it out on the small screen. Everyone’s invited to the viewing party with spots secured in eventbrite.
