From Newark to the Oscar stage. 🏆✨

Watching Michael B. Jordan hold that Academy Award is a reminder that a mother’s words are a child’s blueprint. Ms. Donna spoke life until the world had no choice but to see it, too. Congratulations to the champ and the woman who helped build him! 🙌🏾❤️

So many Black girls grow up feeling the pressure to speak—to explain themselves, to perform, to be “less quiet” so others feel comfortable.
Silence is often mistaken for a problem, when really, it’s where imagination, observation, and depth live.

The Girl from Gully was written for the quiet Black girls.
The ones who think deeply, feel deeply, and don’t always have the words right away.
This story reminds them: you are not behind, broken, or invisible—you are becoming.

This Black History Month, supporting Black authors also means supporting stories that give our children permission to exist as they are, without pressure or apology.

Thank you for choosing stories that protect our girls’ inner worlds. 🖤

REST is Our Strength This Season

To my sisters in the professional world: We have spent the year over-delivering, navigating spaces that weren’t always built for us, and being the “strong one” for everyone else.

As we enter the holiday season, I’m reminding myself (and you) that we don’t have to carry it all. We are not pretending we’re fine when we’re tired, and we aren’t sacrificing our peace for a “perfect” holiday or a year-end deadline.

Our well-being is a non-negotiable priority. Let’s give ourselves permission to rest, to be soft, and to put ourselves first for a change. 🤎

Wellness Wednesday 🌿

Burnout doesn’t usually arrive all at once.
It shows up quietly—through signals we often ignore.

Some common symptoms include:
• Constant fatigue, even after rest
• Loss of motivation or focus
• Increased irritability or emotional exhaustion
• Trouble sleeping or switching off
• Feeling detached from work or daily life

But here’s the reminder we all need—prevention is better than cure.

Self-care isn’t something we do after burnout.
It’s something we practice daily to prevent it.

That might look like:
✔ Setting clearer boundaries
✔ Taking real breaks (not just scrolling)
✔ Saying no without guilt
✔ Resting before you’re exhausted
✔ Checking in with yourself as often as you check in with work

Your well-being is not optional.
Taking care of yourself is part of sustained success—not a distraction from it.

How are you protecting your energy this season?

Wellness Wednesday reminder:
When you push your emotions down, your body will eventually speak for you — through stress, fatigue, tension, or those “mysterious” symptoms we try to ignore. Your body keeps the score, but you don’t have to let it keep carrying the weight.

Give your feelings a safe place to land. The Begin Again Journal was created to help you slow down, process your emotions, and release what’s been sitting heavy on your heart. Guided prompts, scriptures, and affirmations support your healing one honest page at a time.

Choosing to feel is choosing to heal. 💛✨

To My Black Women in Leadership, Business & Purpose… ✨

We carry so much.
We build, we pour, we elevate — often while healing silently.

That’s one of the reasons I created “Begin Again” — a guided healing journal designed to give us space to breathe, process, and pour back into ourselves.
It’s gentle, reflective, faith-rooted, and created with our resilience, our softness, and our restoration in mind.

If you’re on a journey of starting over, rebuilding, or simply choosing yourself again… this journal was made with love for women just like us.

Thank you for supporting my work, my voice, and this offering to our community.
Your support helps me continue creating resources that heal, uplift, and empower.

Google to Pay $50 Million in Racial Discrimination Settlement

Google has agreed to a $50M settlement in a class-action lawsuit brought by over 4,000 Black employees and job applicants, citing systemic racial bias within the company. Allegations included being hired into lower-level roles, denied promotions, and facing racial stereotyping—such as being labeled “not Googley enough.”

Though Google denies wrongdoing, it has committed to meaningful reforms: pay equity analysis, ending the use of salary history in offers, and suspending forced arbitration.

This is a powerful reminder that corporate diversity initiatives must go beyond surface-level metrics. Equity and accountability matter.

Confidence isn’t an attitude. Boundaries aren’t disrespect. And silence isn’t defiance.
Black women deserve to lead, speak, and exist without being policed for how we show up. It’s time to unlearn the stereotypes and start respecting the strength, grace, and dignity that define us.
