SEO isn’t going anywhere, but it 𝒊𝒔 evolving.

If you’ve been focusing on it, you’re on the right track, but there’s another layer you might not be thinking about yet.

We’ve made it through the era of searching, clicking links, and sifting through for a clear answer. What’s happening now, though, is platforms are starting to answer you without you even having to click the link.

This means your content has two jobs now:
→ Help you get found
→ Help you be the answer

Many businesses aren’t doing this well yet. So if you start now, there’s a real opportunity to stand out in a way that actually builds trust and not just traffic.

If you’ve been focused on SEO but haven’t thought about AEO yet, this is your sign!

It’s like the Wild West out there right now 🫣

The economy is hurting. We all see it, feel it, and hear about it.

BUT!

During these times, people don’t stop spending, they just become more selective about who they spend with.

If your business goes quiet online right now, you’re essentially becoming invisible to the very people who are watching, waiting, and deciding who feels safe to buy from.

The businesses that continue to show up (with honesty, value, and a human presence) are the ones that stay top of mind.

To be very clear - this isn’t because they’re selling harder, but because they’re building relationships when it matters most.

So before you pause your marketing, ask yourself:

Can your business afford to be forgotten right now? 🫥

A little shift in perspective could change how you show up in this season.

Running social media for events IS fun.

Fun also sometimes looks like sitting on the floor of a coat check closet editing a reel while listening to the same 7-second audio clip approximately 47 times.

This is the behind-the-scenes part people don’t always see. The scrappy little editing moments that help get content out while the event is still happening.

… and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Giving back to the Niagara community did the trick!

Today we grabbed some groceries and supported a couple of amazing local food drives happening right here in Niagara.

First stop: the lovely team at , who are collecting donations for until December 12th before joining in on the Great Holiday Food Drive at Market Square in downtown St. Catharines.

Then we headed to Niagara-on-the-Lake to visit .ca, who are running a food drive for from December 1–6. Plus, they’re offering 15% off with a food donation this week!

It’s wild how a small act of kindness can flip the switch into holiday mode. If you’ve been waiting for a sign to give back, support local, and spread some Christmas cheer, hopefully this is it.

If I could sit down with my younger self ... ⁠

I’d tell her that starting a business isn’t about having it all figured out. It’s about having the courage to take the first step (even if you trip a little along the way).⁠

The late nights, the learning curves, the “is this actually working?” moments all build something bigger than you can imagine when you’re just starting out.⁠

I’d tell her to trust her gut, to celebrate the small wins, and to stop worrying about being “too much” or “not enough” for people. The right people will love you and what you do for exactly who you are. ⁠

For anyone reading this who’s on the edge of chasing their own dream, this is your reminder that the awkward beginnings are where the magic happens.

The thing about social media metrics ... is that they DO matter, but they aren’t everything.

Yes, we track views, reach, saves, shares, clicks, follower growth, and more. These numbers give us valuable insights into what’s working and where we can adjust BUT the real magic of social media isn’t always hiding in your analytics tab.

The most powerful metric? Human connection, of course!

☀️ It’s the trust you build over time when people feel seen, heard, and valued by your brand.
☀️ It’s the DM that says, “This post is exactly what I needed today.”
☀️ It’s the share between friends because your content sparked a laugh or an "ah ha!" moment.

So, while we’ll never stop analyzing the hard numbers (we totally geek out over data), don’t forget that your audience is not the app - it’s the humans on the other side of the screen and those human moments are priceless!

Summer came and went in a blur of content creation, client campaigns, vacations, graduations, cat cuddles, gardening, race nights, and more!

While my phone was always in hand, it wasn’t for posting on my own page - it was for capturing all the good stuff in work and life and you know what? That’s okay! I believe the best strategies come from a place of balance. When we live fully outside of work, we bring more creativity, heart, and authenticity into our work.

Over a century later, this quote still holds up and it’s especially relevant in today’s noisy digital world. Before you go spending big bucks on paid ads, influencer campaigns, or elaborate giveaways, you need something that does the foundational work: organic social media.

Let’s break down this quote:

☀️ Attract attention: That’s your scroll-stopping content, clever hooks, behind-the-scenes shots, and juicy updates. It’s your first impression!

☀️ Maintain interest: Where value meets voice. Are you educating, entertaining, or inspiring? Are you being a person, not just a product? Your audience needs a reason to stick around beyond your pretty grid.

☀️ Create desire: Desire doesn’t mean “buy now!” It means building trust. Showing your work. Telling your story. Repeating your message in enough authentic, thoughtful ways until people say, “Okay, I’m with you.”
