🥍 Fresh from the FireWing portfolio: the 2026 Founders Cup Tournament Program.

Last week, Saint John played host to the 2026 Founders Cup, bringing the host Saint John Rapids together with four teams from across Canada and one from the United States for a week of junior box lacrosse.

I had the opportunity to work with the Founders Cup host committee to design and produce the official tournament program, which grew into a 48-page publication featuring team rosters, schedules, tournament information, player features, history, community content, sponsor recognition and more.

With a project this content-heavy, much of the design work happens before the pages start looking pretty. It means finding structure within a huge amount of information, building a consistent visual system, establishing hierarchy and making sure someone flipping through the finished program can easily find what they're looking for.

The result was a piece designed to serve several purposes at once. It was a guide to the tournament, a welcome to visiting teams and fans, a showcase for the host community and something worth taking home when the week was over.

I also went into the project having watched very little lacrosse before. After spending this much time immersed in the tournament and getting out to catch some of the action myself, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I suspect there will be a lot more lacrosse on my radar from here on out.

🍂 2026 Fall Family Sessions are now booking! 📸

There’s something about fall that just works for family photos. Warm colours, cooler evenings, and a pretty great excuse to slow things down and capture where your family is right now.

Sessions are relaxed and unhurried, with enough time for everyone to settle in. We’ll get the photos you’ll want framed, of course, but I’m just as interested in the laughs, interactions and little moments that actually feel like your family.

🍁 $250 per session
📸 Up to 5 people
➕ $10 for each additional person
🐾 Pets are always welcome
⏱️ Approximately 45–60 minutes
🖼️ Professionally edited high-resolution digital images

💳 50% deposit required to secure your date

I’ve photographed some families year after year, and one of my favourite parts of doing this is seeing how much changes between sessions. Kids get taller, personalities get bigger, and somehow another year disappears.

Whether it’s been a year since your last family photos or quite a few, fall is a pretty great time to get everyone together and make it happen.

A logo isn’t finished just because it looks good on screen.

There are more tools than ever to help people create something quickly. That’s not a bad thing. It helps get ideas out into the world.

But real logos, the ones that actually work, are built with intention.

• They scale cleanly.
• They reproduce properly.
• They hold up across print, signage, apparel, and digital without falling apart.

And a lot of the time, the files people have just aren’t there yet.

Sometimes a rebrand is the right move.

When an organization has outgrown its identity, merged, shifted strategy, or needs to rebuild trust, visual change can be necessary.

But a rebrand only works when there’s shared clarity underneath it.
What the brand stands for. Who owns decisions. How tradeoffs get made.

Without that foundation, even strong design struggles to hold.

Clarity doesn’t replace design.
It makes design stick.

✈️ Out of Office (and Off the Grid!)
I’ll be taking a little creative recharge this week — trading screen time for sunshine and inspiration.
