It feels like it’s been ages since I last posted about any creative projects and that’s because I hit pause on freelance life to dive headfirst into a passion project that’s been quietly growing behind the scenes.

As many of you know, our daughter has been riding for several years and last year, we were lucky enough to find her the pony of her dreams!🐴 His name is Donnie…and let’s just say, he lives up to the “spicy pony” stereotype. He is bold, speedy and so darn lovable!

Watching their journey together has been nothing short of magic. And truthfully, it’s not just Brinn who’s been changed by this lifestyle…I’ve fallen in love with the barn too!❤️ The horses, the quiet moments, the community…it’s become my happy place. My husband jokes that I love going to the barn more than Brinn and he’s probably right.

And that, my friends, is where this new story begins…

Having to hit pause on your passion projects can be tough sometimes. The past few months were jam-packed with work and life 🤪, but now that things have settled down, I'm diving back into the creative process. Working on my pattern collections brings me so much joy—it's where I feel my happiest! 🎨💫

This week's Spoonflower challenge was such a treat to work on...Vintage Sportswear with particular reference made to ski wear⛷️. I decided to pull inspiration from the Prince of Patterns...iconic Italian designer Pucci! His vast collection of exquisite psychedelic patterns helped spark the vision for this particular design.🥰 For my entry, I focused on designing a vibrant colour palette 🎨 and complimented it with an energetic flow of swirly details 🌀 and geometric 🔵 🔶 🔺 elements to help infuse a sense of motion and activity.
