📸 Bridge Progress + Content in Action 🚧
While Andy is out at sea filming for OF METAL, Adam was on the ground yesterday capturing visuals of the historic CPR Pedestrian Bridge rehabilitation project here in Red Deer, Alberta.
This bridge, originally built in 1908, has been a key connection across the Red Deer River for over a century. Over time, its steel trusses, foundations, and pathways began to show their age, creating safety concerns and limiting access for the community.
Without proper care, this iconic structure risked deteriorating further, and the community could have lost a piece of its heritage.
Thanks to thoughtful planning and federal and city support, a comprehensive rehabilitation project is underway.
The team is restoring steel trusses, replacing foundations, upgrading lighting, and revitalizing pedestrian pathways and public spaces along the river. It’s a true example of government and community-led infrastructure supporting safe, connected, and vibrant public spaces that everyone can enjoy.
There’s still plenty of work to do, but we’re proud to be part of documenting this transformation.
