If you think things are bad in Southern Ontario you are right: the air quality has been pretty terrible and is expected to remain bad through the weekend. However, there are others to the north of us that are enduring much much worse. So mane fires, so much forest fire funding cut by the province in recent years for some reason… many in communities north of Thunder Bay had zero help, zero guidance for evacuations, and no relief plan in place. Please check my second photo for a link to donate to Whitesand First Nation. This is where my people are from, and I have word that everyone has been accounted for, many with their pets. However, these fires are moving so fast that most evacuees do not have time to take anything other than the clothes on their backs. People have left wallets, IDs, shoes, and other essential items behind in hopes of evacuating safely. Please consider donating even a few dollars if you can. If you can’t please share this so that word gets out and these evacuees can get the basics of daily life required to stay grounded in a situation with now official end date. I will post more on ways to give when I can. ❤️🩹Miigwetch. ❤️🩹
