It’s giving booking swimming lessons for the kids 10 years ago, but it’s actually campsites in Ontario for the summer. The competition is fierce. Like the Hunger Games. Good sites go within 15 minutes of being released if not sooner.

Feels like there could be a better way.

How we spent our last day in Copenhagen. I was lukewarm about the possibility of visiting a cemetery and then we got there. Kierkegaard and Hans Christian Anderson are buried here as are several other historical figures. Realizing sometimes your kids have incredibly clever ideas and that death and life will never not be intertwined so why aren’t cemeteries in North America a bit more like this?

Come with me to the national Museum of Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 All of the museums in Scotland are free, which we took full advantage of while visiting Edinburgh.

Special exhibits can carry an additional fee.

You could spend the entire day at the National Museum of Scotland especially if it’s a super rainy or cold weather day.

But if you only have a limited time, just know that the museum is right across from Greyfriars and you can walk there afterwards or enjoy several of the restaurants and shops nearby.

An ideal itinerary would be National Museum of Scotland for 2 to 3 hours, cross the road get a meal from Mums. Shop at BaaBaa, Go to Grayfriars for about an hour and suss out all of the cool tombstones and Harry Potter references. Then walk Elizabeth Street as it starts to get dark.

Couldn’t have asked for a snowier January. Spent a lot of time skiing locally at Boler with a quick day trip to Blue Mountain.
