Congratulations Chris!
It's terrific to see someone from our local foodbank recognized for so many years of service to the community!

If you’ve ever been to Greener Village, chances are you’ve met Chris Fougere - and you know he’s one of the best. For 28 years he’s been on the frontline, greeting every person with kindness, respect, and a smile. He makes sure no one feels alone or judged when they walk through our doors.

And now, he’s got some well-earned recognition: Chris has been awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal! To be honest, I wasn't really sure what this was - I'm familiar with Coronation Quiche - so I did a little investigating:

The Coronation Medal commemorates the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III as King of Canada, and is awarded to nominees who have made a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region or community of Canada. Chris was nominated for his 28 years in Client Services at Greener Village, and for his kindness and ability to develop friendly relationships with each and every one of the clients coming to receive services.

Chris will receive his Medal at a presentation ceremony on February 25th. What a well deserved honour - Chris, you’re a legend. Couldn’t be prouder to work alongside you!
