With the deepest heartbreak, we are sharing the tragic loss of our partner, colleague and friend Rich Wiens on January 19, 2026.
Rich was fiercely passionate about the people and things that he loved: surfing on snow or water, skateboarding, travel to sunny places, Winnipeg (IYKYK), the Canucks and the Jets, his cherished relationships with friends, his unwavering belief in fairness and his family. Christy, Declan and Reece were his greatest love, he was never more lit up than when he shared videos and stories of their adventures and achievements. Inventa was also blessed to be one of the passions that Rich poured his heart and soul in to on a daily basis, for over two and a half decades. He is intricately woven into the fabric of our agency, the one he built alongside his Partners. His loss is not a vacancy we can ever fill, we don’t have to because his mark on Inventa is indelible and for all time.
At Inventa, Rich helped define our core values, so it’s no coincidence they were ones that he also lived his life by. He was never without the courage to speak his mind, particularly when he knew in his heart what was right. He led his projects, his client and colleague relationships with complete integrity, owning the good and the bad. While people may have seen Rich as practical first, he was a true creative soul whose many ideas were brought to life across countless experiential campaigns, presentation decks, on the go solutions to crazy challenges, right down to the very walls of the Inventa offices that bear his marks.
We know you will join us in mourning the loss of Rich Wiens, and celebrating a life well lived. To quote the man himself: “The run doesn’t last forever. Make it unforgettable.”
