National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, September 30, 2022. Our office is closed today.

As an Indigenous owned business, it is important that we take time today to reflect on the history of Indigenous people in our country. To listen. To learn. To respectfully acknowledge and to better understand the impacts of that history so that it may not repeat itself.

We hope you will also take some time to learn about that history, the culture, and the Indigenous people. We all share this country, this province, and these communities, and while the resources and information are plentiful, it takes courage to teach ourselves and our children to reach for a better tomorrow.

Today is National Indigenous People’s Day here in Canada. Mica, our Creative Director here at Craft & Compass, is a status member of the Lax Kw’alaams Band of the Tsimshian Tribe. Lax Kw’alaams is also known as Port Simpson, and is located near Prince Rupert on the coast of North West British Columbia.

We encourage all Canadians to learn more about this beautiful land we share, our people and our history. Acknowledge our past and help to build a better future for our children.
